Replace ChatGPT? Amazon exclusive feature is launched!

Recently, Amazon released its Q2 financial report. In the second quarter of 2023 ending June 30, Amazon's net sales were US$134.4 billion, a year-on-year increase of 11%, and the market expected US$131.63 billion; net profit was US$6.7 billion, a year-on-year increase of 435%, and the market expected US$3.6 billion.

As one of the leading cross-border platforms, Amazon has lived up to everyone's expectations. Not only has it set a new high since the fourth quarter of 2021, but compared with the loss of $2 billion in the same period last year, this year can be said to have turned the tide and returned to its peak.

While the battle report is encouraging, the Amazon team also revealed another piece of news in the financial report: AI functions will be launched within the platform.

In Amazon's quarterly earnings call, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy revealed that artificial intelligence is at the core of Amazon's future plans. Andy Jassy said: "Every business unit within Amazon has multiple AI projects underway, including retail stores, online advertising, streaming entertainment, cloud services and consumer electronics, especially the virtual assistant Alexa."

According to Insider, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy is currently leading a new team that is working on the company's most ambitious Project A. In late June, Jassy also announced that his subordinate Rohit will lead a core team dedicated to building Amazon's most scalable large-scale language model.

Just as the article was published, many people mocked and questioned it: AI is not cabbage, can you just say it exists?

"It's so funny. Other companies have already launched their products, but this company is still making big promises. I checked and found out that Rohit is of Indian descent."

“Amazon… got it. Being a leader, you can say whatever you want (snickering).”

“Nonsense, Amazon is more like an AI model marketplace.”

“Nonsense.”

“Nonsense.”

but!

Amazon actually made it.

Despite all the buzz, Amazon's new AI features have actually been released recently.

As early as the beginning of this year, many sellers have spontaneously used ChatGPT to write listings, which can be said to be the first pot of gold from AI technology. With the widespread popularity of ChatGpt, Amazon has noticed this blue ocean.

Now this function has been quietly launched in the background, and its main function is to generate product information. Sellers only need to enter some words to describe the product, and the background can automatically generate the product name, description and key points.

Currently, this new tool supports up to 100 product descriptions. Personal data such as name, address or phone number cannot be included. This feature can help sellers write high-quality listings with one click, greatly saving sellers' energy and time.

Amazon's own AI will be more accurate in data analysis than other AIs with a wide range of coverage, such as ChatGPT and NewBing. Every profession has its own expertise. AI that specializes in writing copy for e-commerce is like a secret test paper with predicted questions. The teacher who makes the test paper directly provides the question bank, which is presumably more professional than the question banks on the market.

In other words, after the launch of the new function, sellers no longer need to rack their brains to edit content. Just put the keywords above and accurate descriptions will be automatically generated. Not only that, in the future, sellers will no longer need to spend energy and time to produce pictures, videos and creative advertisements, which will greatly reduce costs.

In addition to AI content filling, the team also plans to launch image generation and video construction to help sellers place advertisements on the Amazon platform. At the same time, Amazon also announced that it will launch a generative AI competition, where users can access basic models from different providers through APIs.

As a new feature, AI tools have not yet been popularized to all sellers. This feature is currently available by adding products, selecting the corresponding category, and clicking to enter . If you can't find it, don't worry. If the effect is good, Amazon will soon popularize it to the entire platform. By then, there will be a new round of cost and profit reshuffle.
