Big news of the week! Italy exempts masks and other epidemic prevention supplies from VAT

In Italy, the sale of epidemic prevention products such as lotions, surgical masks, Ffp2 and Ffp3 masks, disposable gloves, face masks and goggles are exempt from VAT until December 31, 2020 .

Italian Decree No. 19 of 2020:

VAT reduction for goods needed to control and manage the pandemic: Reduce the VAT rate on medical and personal protective equipment and devices (e.g., lung ventilators, masks, and other devices to keep workers safe) from 22% to 5 %. Sales of the same goods are completely exempt from VAT until December 31 , 2020 .

From 26 April 2020, the resolution of the Special Commissioner for the COVID-19 emergency (ordinanza n.11/2020) remains applicable. This sets a price ceiling of € 0.50 per piece for the sale of surgical masks ( standard UNI EN 14683) ( now exempt from VAT ) .

On May 25 , Amazon will help Singapore retailers develop their online businesses and invite local small and medium-sized retailers who are willing to provide products to more customers to develop their business to register with Amazon Singapore. In December last year, Amazon Singapore officially opened a channel for Chinese sellers to open stores. At the same time, Amazon also provided Chinese sellers who newly entered the Singapore site with 0 yuan monthly rent and 0 yuan declaration activity discounts.

When registering and selling on the site, eligible SMEs are eligible to receive a one-off grant of up to S$ 9,000 within 6 months. The grant can be used to help with content development, channel management, advertising and promotions to help local retailers enhance their e-commerce capabilities.

Amazon will waive the S$ 29.90 monthly subscription fee per seller for all new and existing retailers selling on Amazon Singapore from now until December 31 , 2020. At the same time, for new local retailers, fees for all transactions on the site, including the deal of the day, will be waived.

Shopify   Announced to launch   ShopifyBalance , Shop Pay Installments   and other products and services.
