On Amazon, there are spoofs from peers every year, but I didn’t expect there would be so many at the beginning of 2021. Recently, a seller in a small category on a US site could no longer tolerate the long-term spoofing by an unscrupulous competitor, so he offered a reward of 20,000 on the forum to take down the competitor . According to the seller, he was doing a small category on the US site, and he had been suffering from bad reviews and dead links from the other party for a year and a half. He thought that peace brings wealth, so he gave up. Recently, the other party was trying to kill me, using cross-site and malicious banned words , which caused my links to be removed from the shelves in batches and turned into dogs. He drove me out of this category, and some other small buyers were driven away by him. Because the other party has an evaluation team, he keeps giving bad reviews and dead links, and now his products are ranked at the top of the entire small category. The seller said that he couldn't stand it anymore, even if he didn't do it, he would fight to the death, so he wanted to find a great god to help him , give rewards, and be willing to kill a store to kill the prankster . In addition to offering a reward of 20,000 yuan for a way to fight back, the seller was even so angry that he was willing to sell his house in his hometown to seek revenge , which shows what kind of persecution he has suffered. I thought this was an isolated case involving individual sellers, but Xiaozhi found that things were not that simple. Coincidentally, a large number of sellers said they had experienced the same situation . "Just the day before yesterday, one of my popular links was hacked by someone in the same way. It has happened no less than five times . I wish I could kill the mastermind behind it." "On Member Day last year, I encountered the same situation as you! Someone added a lot of banned words related to "drugs" to my US listing on the Canadian site, and the listing became a mess. I had no experience before, and it took me 23 days from the beginning to the rescue of the listing , and I opened more than 100 phone cases..." "Similarly, sensitive words were added to the United States, Canada, and Mexico. It took me two months to successfully restore them." Another seller said: The listing was selling well on the US site. I enabled remote delivery a few months ago and synced the listing to the Canadian and Mexican sites. Suddenly one day, the listing on the US site showed that the product details page had been deleted. I opened the "No Sales Information" repair and it showed restricted products. I was surprised, why would such an ordinary product be restricted? Today, the US, Canada, and Mexico sites all sent me emails saying that it was a restricted product . The seller asked customer service and was told that the product had been modified by someone in Canada and sensitive words had been added , and that their product had been identified as containing methoxyamine or MXE . All of the above recent spoof incidents actually have one thing in common: the malicious addition of banned words across sites . Why is this possible? Some sellers believe that this is a huge loophole in Amazon. US ASINs, no matter how well-registered they are, can be added to the Canadian site by malicious accounts and edited as restricted products (for example, sensitive words are added to the product description or a parameter). In this way, the US listing is considered a restricted product by the system, removed from the US site, and the victim account also receives a violation alert. In the end, even if the victim seller has put in a lot of effort, it will take many days to recover, and sales will be greatly reduced. Some sellers said that this has always been a bug, and those who are attentive can fix it every day. In response to this prank, some sellers called on the victimized sellers to write to the brother-in-law together, hoping to attract the attention of Amazon's senior management. Some sellers have also sent emails to Amazon to provide feedback. The response from the customer service of the Canadian site was: Amazon has an internal team that is reviewing the issues reported by the sellers. After the review process is completed, the results will be notified and the sellers are asked to wait patiently.
Waiting is never the best option, so what should you do when you encounter this situation? Some sellers said they had encountered the same problem before. However, you can open a chat case at that time. If you can't chat, just call and provide product pictures and UPC photos to open a case at the Canadian site that was tampered with. Ask them to refresh and delete the 5 keywords or use the elements of your US site and ask them to modify and add them again. After the modification, immediately go to the US site, explain your situation, and let the team review it again. It can be resolved within 5 days. First: Determine which site the listing was modified on Second: Open a case on the site where the listing was tampered with to obtain the editing rights of the listing, and upload the product picture with the UPC code (because you cannot edit the modified listing and have no editing rights) Third: Refresh with the template. If it doesn’t work once, try again and open more cases (the first time I encountered this problem, they asked me to provide various safety certifications for the product. I couldn’t provide them, so I opened cases to explain that my product was an ordinary product, not a so-called toxic or hazardous product, and that someone else had maliciously modified my listing. I pestered the customer service to explain it in detail) Fourth: There is a high probability that this listing will be downgraded and sales will not be as good as before. The listings that I have encountered this problem are not as good as before, so you must be prepared for this. Sellers can try these methods first. If they don’t work, you can only file an appeal by collecting evidence (there is an appeal button in the email). Sellers need to prepare the following materials: product photos with UPC barcodes (real photos without photoshop), product certificates (including your own ASIN title, indicating the product’s components, ingredients, and applicable inspection standards), 6-sided top views of the actual product, etc. Please note that you need to file a complaint on the Canadian site, submit the above information, request to restore the link editing rights, and delete the prohibited words. When the Canadian site is restored, open a case on the US site and ask the product page team to restore the product for sale. |
