Amazon is strictly checking the invoice defect rate, and sellers are in tears after the release of new features

“Invoice defect rate” is strictly investigated

In July last year, Amazon officially released the audit standards for invoice defect rate, recommending that sellers keep the invoice defect rate below 5% .

Many seller friends did not pay much attention to Amazon’s “ suggestions ”. As their stores were operating as usual and there was nothing wrong, they did not take it seriously. However, recently many sellers have received emails warning of store closure .

The email stated that the seller’s invoice defect rate ( the percentage of Amazon Business Purchasing customer orders for which invoices were not uploaded within one working day after shipment ) had exceeded the standard and failed to remain within the 5% limit stipulated by Amazon.

Although Amazon has not taken any action against such accounts at present, starting from April 5 , if the invoice defect rate exceeds 5%, the seller's account will be deactivated .

The number scanning storm has not yet subsided, and the invoice storm has struck again. Faced with wave after wave of " crackdowns ", sellers must pay attention to the invoice issue. Starting from Monday this week (April 5), Amazon sellers in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain must maintain the invoice defect rate below 5%. If this standard is exceeded, they may really face store closure and account suspension.

Amazon US launches

Refund for First Scan (RFS) feature

Recently, an announcement from Amazon's US site has caused a huge uproar, leaving a large number of sellers in tears. The announcement stated that starting from May 4, the first scan refund (RFS) function will be launched to all sellers using the prepaid return label program.

This feature is mainly aimed at self-delivery sellers , and Amazon’s announcement states that this feature is mandatory , which means sellers must use it. As long as the goods are returned through Amazon’s prepaid return label program, they will automatically support the first scan refund.

Amazon said that the main purpose of this feature is to help sellers automatically process refunds , so that sellers no longer have to rush to process refunds within two working days. This feature seems to be convenient for both sellers and buyers, but in fact it is more to take care of buyers' shopping experience and allow them to enjoy seamless returns .

If the buyer's return application complies with regulations, Amazon can directly "release" it without going through the seller. Sellers only need to receive the refund notification email sent by Amazon. However, if sellers receive returned goods that are damaged or significantly different from the original goods, if the refund is issued through this function, then sellers can apply for SAFE-T compensation .

Sellers have polarized views on this feature. Some sellers are worried that some bad buyers will use this feature to return items that do not match the original products. In this way, they can get the products and obtain refunds at the same time. At that time, sellers can only wait for the results of the claim and the police's handling.

There are also many optimistic sellers who said that perhaps after simplifying the refund procedure, buyers will enjoy a more convenient shopping experience and will be more likely to place orders, thereby greatly increasing store sales .
