How does Shopify collect payments? How to set up Shopify payment methods
With the rapid development of the cross-border e-commerce industry, independent websites have gradually become a trend. As the largest independent website service platform abroad, payment collection is one of the most concerned issues for sellers. Let's focus on how to set up Shopify payment methods. Shopify has many payment methods, such as PayPal, credit card, Google Wallet, cash on delivery, bills of exchange, etc., but the most suitable for Chinese merchants is PayPal and credit card payment. 1. PayPal settings for Shopify payment methods Step 1: After logging in to your Shopify panel, click Settings in the left menu. Step 2: Click Payments. Step 3: In the PayPal section, select PayPal Express Checkout from the drop-down menu. Step 4: Click Activate Step 5: You will be redirected to the PayPal page. Log in using your email address and password. Step 6: Click Grant Permission Step 7: You will be redirected to the Shopify Admin tool. Click Save to complete the setup. How to verify whether my Paypal settings are correct? If the interface shown above has appeared, it means that your website can now receive payments through Paypal. In order to verify whether the settings are successful, many customers have friends in China test it. When using Paypal to pay, they are prompted that Paypal cannot complete the payment. The reason for this problem is that Paypal currently does not support transfers between domestic accounts, resulting in the inability to pay. What is the difference between Paypal Express Checkout and Paypal Payments Pro (US)? Currently, Paypal accounts applied for in mainland China only support Express Checkout on Shopify. To use Payments Pro, the premise is that your Paypal account is a US account, but because your login IP is in China, there will be risks in the security of your Paypal account. For specific details, please consult your Paypal account manager. 2. Credit card settings for Shopify payment methods Step 1: Enter your Shopify backend → Click Settings → Click Payments Step 2: If you have previously set up the credit card test gateway Bogus Gateway, you must first deactivate it. In the Accept credit cards column, select Edit-->Change gateway->click Deactivate in the pop-up dialog box. Step 3: If you have not set up your credit card information before, you can directly select a service provider that suits you. Currently, there are 4 credit card online payment service providers that can be used in Shopify. Select one of them according to your needs (assuming you already have an account with one of them), follow the prompts on the next page, and finally click Activate to activate it.
