Will the account be blocked if the listing contains these two words? Will the sale be banned if there is no summary? The truth is...

Yesterday, a saying went viral among Amazon sellers:

The platform will conduct strict inspections on listings by the end of the year. The US site is conducting random inspections. Any products that contain words such as "warranty" or "guarantee" in the five bullet points of the title or in the description will be removed from the shelves, and in serious cases the store may even be closed.

As soon as the news came out, regardless of whether it was true or false, some sellers began to panic, because if they wanted to change it, many sellers would have to change all their SKUs...

In fact, most sellers’ five points have the word “guarantee” in them, and if the SKU is changed, the word must also be changed . It’s really troublesome just thinking about it.

Is this news true or false? So many sellers went to ask customer service, and the customer service staff had different opinions on this news.

Point 1: Customer service confirmed that these two words are not allowed

A seller consulted customer service about this matter and was told that including warranty and guarantee in the five points of the listing and the description is considered a violation and may result in the listing being banned from sale.

Viewpoint 2: No prohibited use policy was received

There are also Amazon customer service staff who said that the words "warranty" and "guarantee" are not prohibited in the background policy.

Viewpoint 3: Only for A+

There is also customer service feedback that this message is only for A+:

Some sellers even speculated that it was the service provider's doing, and that they wanted to "squeeze the leeks" just like the "pesticide" incident a few days ago.

Four different statements popped up at once. Who should the seller believe?

Official rumor refutation is here

Seeing the sellers’ heated discussions on the matter, Amazon officials also came out to refute the rumor and put an end to the matter.

Now you can rest assured. Sellers don’t have to worry about the listing being blocked because of these two words. As for the different opinions of the customer service, it may be that the service level of some customer service is not up to standard.

Amazon's new lithium battery regulations are here

Although there are rumors of store closures mentioned above, if this policy is violated, the store closure will become a reality.

Recently, many sellers have received emails from Amazon regarding lithium batteries. The content is as follows:

From January 1, 2020, battery manufacturers and distributors must provide a lithium battery test summary in accordance with the United Nations standard UN38.3.

As an FBA seller, you are responsible for obtaining this test summary for any ASIN you sell. If you do not provide this summary, you may not be able to sell your products on Amazon. In addition, all units of this ASIN in our fulfillment centers may be disposed of at your expense.

The email clearly stated that if the UN38.3 lithium battery test summary is not provided, the product will be banned from sale .

Many sellers get panicked when they see UN38.3. What the hell is this?

What is UN38.3?

UN38.3 refers to Article 38.3 of Part 3 of the United Nations Manual of Tests and Criteria for the Transport of Dangerous Goods, which is specially formulated by the United Nations for the transportation of dangerous goods. Considering some safety aspects of lithium batteries during air transportation, the lithium battery operation specification, namely the UN38.3 test, was formulated.

Which products require UN38.3 certification?

1. Various power secondary batteries (such as power vehicle batteries, electric road vehicle batteries, power tool batteries, hybrid vehicle batteries, etc.)

2. Various mobile phone batteries (such as lithium-ion batteries, lithium polymer batteries, etc.)

3. Various small secondary batteries (such as laptop batteries, digital camera batteries, video camera batteries, various cylindrical batteries, wireless communication batteries, portable DVD batteries, CD and MP3 player batteries, etc.)

4. Various lead-acid batteries (such as lead-acid batteries for automobile starting, fixed lead-acid batteries, small valve-regulated sealed lead-acid batteries, etc.)

5. Various primary batteries (such as lithium manganese batteries, etc.)

So sellers who sell products with the above batteries on Amazon, please pay attention! Before shipping the products to FBA, remember to carefully check whether there is a test summary for the lithium battery.

It is understood that most battery suppliers have the UN38.3 certification. If they don’t have it, they can find a certification agency to do it. Domestic safety testing agencies can do it, and it can be done in about two weeks . The key is that it is not expensive. It is much easier than IEC62133, UL, South Korea’s KC and Japan’s PSE!

Therefore, if you don’t want to be blocked, sellers should hurry up and prepare!
