70% of sellers are experiencing "disappearing orders", and Amazon is facing a shortage of stock crisis!

Compared to "The Vanishing Girl", I am more afraid of "The Vanishing Order" . After all, I don’t know whether love will disappear, but if the performance is not completed by the end of the month, "The Vanishing Me" will probably be released.

——Confession from an Amazonian

Survey data shows that as of the end of June this year, more than 70% of sellers saw a drop in sales compared to the same period last year, of which 26.7% of sellers even saw a 30%-50% drop in order volume. Only 30% of sellers saw an increase in order volume, but the increase was not significant.

Since the beginning of this year, affected by the uncertain economic environment and continued inflationary pressure, many sellers have not yet escaped the growth slump and often encounter supernatural stories of orders mysteriously "disappearing".

Not only that, cross-border sellers also have to face various stumbling blocks on the road to finding "disappearing orders", such as sudden changes in platform policies and logistics storms that break out from time to time.

Recently, the wave of strikes launched by Amazon workers has brewed a new logistics storm.

Amazon strike continues, affecting multiple warehouses

It is learned that according to foreign media reports, Amazon employees have once again launched a strike in the past week, and many warehouses in the United States, Germany and other countries have been affected.

On June 25, local time in the United States, delivery drivers in Palmdale, California, expanded their strike to Amazon's second distribution facility center, the ONT1 warehouse in Bernardino.

It is understood that the strike began on June 24. The Amazon delivery drivers participating in the strike demanded that Amazon stop unfair labor practices, otherwise they would continue the strike until Amazon reinstated illegally fired employees and resolved the issues of low wages and dangerous working conditions.

At the same time, on June 26, Amazon warehouse workers in the eastern German city of Leipzig also began a 48-hour strike in an effort to get Amazon to raise employee wages.

In response to the above situation, Amazon said that the strike would not affect its operations. However, given that the strike wave is intensifying, most cross-border sellers are still worried that the upcoming Member Day deliveries will be affected.

It is also worth noting that the FBA warehouse explosion phenomenon, which has been frequently mentioned before, has not yet been alleviated.

According to logistics insiders, not only are American warehouses such as GYR3, SCK4, SCK3, and SMF3 experiencing delays to varying degrees, but European warehouses such as DTM1, DTM2, and LEJ3 are also facing the dilemma of warehouse overflow.

Based on this, with Prime Day approaching, cross-border sellers’ anxiety about logistics and delivery delays has reached a peak, and “low shelf efficiency” has also become a hot topic in the cross-border circle in recent times.

If the goods are not on the shelves for a long time, out of stock will become the biggest problem?

It is learned that recently, many sellers have reported that a large number of Amazon shipments have not been put on the shelves for a long time.

The picture comes from the seller communication group

One seller said that the sea freight he sent on May 5 was not received after part of it was signed for on June 9, and there was no news of other shipments in the same batch being received after they were delivered.

The seller mentioned that some of these products were prepared for the upcoming Member's Day, but they have yet to be put on the shelves. Only dozens of out-of-stock products were replenished, and they were out of stock again within a few days. When he opened a case to inquire with customer service, he only got an invalid reply that "due to the large number of shipments received by the warehouse recently, the time required to receive the shipment and put the products on the shelves may be longer than usual."

Now, there is less than half a month left until Prime Day, but there are still many sellers whose Amazon shipments are not yet available:
"I also started to have problems with the sea freight that I sent on May 5th, and now the red orders I sent are also not being put on the shelves."
"It's really not possible. All the products are on the way to the shelves. They are out of stock. It's annoying."
"You're still lucky. I sent it by sea in March, and it arrived on April 10th. I've only received one box now."
"No way, no way, it's not like the goods haven't arrived yet when the membership day comes?"

Under this circumstance, many sellers can't help but worry - out of stock may become the biggest obstacle to the surge in orders on Member's Day.

It is learned that in recent times, first Amazon promulgated new logistics regulations to strengthen logistics supervision, and then major foreign logistics companies such as UPS and the United States Postal Service strictly investigated accounts with water leakage. In addition, Amazon's delivery manpower is suspected to have been reduced due to layoffs, resulting in slow efficiency in putting goods on the shelves after warehousing, and the replenishment cycle does have a trend of being "lengthened".

Many sellers also expressed concern that the situation might become more serious during the peak season.

It is currently unknown when Amazon warehouse delivery will resume normal operations. We would like to remind relevant sellers to always pay attention to the operation status of the goods and adjust the shipping plans in time according to the situation to avoid losses.

I wonder if you sellers have also encountered the above situation? Welcome to discuss in the comment section~
