Breaking News: A cargo plane crashed in the United States, which may be a plane hired by Amazon to transport goods.

On February 24, the Federal Aviation Administration said Atlas Air Flight 3591 crashed in Anahok, Texas at 12:45 p.m. ET.

The Federal Aviation Administration said there were three people on board the plane at the time. All three are likely dead.

According to the aircraft tracking website Flightradar24, the Boeing 767 cargo plane may be a product transport aircraft hired by Amazon Air.

The Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement that a Boeing 767 cargo plane crashed into a bay outside Houston on Saturday afternoon with three people on board.

The Federal Aviation Administration said Flight 3591 was en route from Miami to Houston when it crashed in Anahoo, Texas, shortly before 12:45 p.m. ET. Chambers County Sheriff Brian Hawthorne said witnesses said the plane went nose-down into the bay. "I think this is a crash that nobody could have survived," Hawthorne said.

Amazon did not immediately respond to a request for an interview with a reporter. Atlas Air is one of the cargo airlines that Amazon has signed a contract with Air Transport Services Group to operate an Amazon-branded fleet. The contracted air cargo companies all operate Amazon-branded aircraft and mainly carry out air transportation of goods.

Video footage shot by local news media at the scene showed some debris from the plane and its cargo in the bay, with one piece of material appearing to show part of the Amazon logo. Law enforcement officials have begun a detailed search of the large swampland at the crash site, and have found items in the bay that could be Amazon products, such as bed sheets, women's clothing and cartons.

At present, multiple diving teams from the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Houston Police have arrived at the scene of the accident.

Local Sheriff Brian Hawthorne said that some body debris had been found at the crash site, but it has not yet been confirmed whether they are the remains of three people. The sheriff described that "almost nothing on the plane was intact," so he estimated that no one survived the accident.

Police said, "According to witnesses, the plane turned and then dropped sharply before the accident."

According to FlightRadar24.com, the 767 cargo plane was flying from Miami to Houston and crashed 40 miles southeast of Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport.

Robert Sumwalt, chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board, said in an interview that the plane approached George Bush Intercontinental Airport in a normal descent and then "descended very, very rapidly" at 6,300 feet.

According to foreign media reports, after the accident, Dave Clark, senior vice president of global operations at Amazon, said: "In this terrible tragedy, we express our thoughts and prayers with the crew of Atlas Air, their families and friends, and the entire team."

It is reported that the location in a swamp area also poses difficulties in finding the aircraft's black box.

In the past few years, Amazon, as the world's largest e-commerce company, has gradually entered the field of logistics and express delivery. Amazon generally establishes air cargo, ocean freight and local express delivery businesses by renting vehicles from external logistics service companies.

Just a few days ago, US media reported that Amazon is aggressively expanding its air logistics business, recently adding 50 new transport aircraft, and plans to invest US$1.5 billion to build an air cargo hub in Kentucky, USA in 2021.

It is reported that Amazon's logistics costs have been rising in recent years, increasing by 23% year-on-year in 2018 to US$9 billion.
