Banned for exceeding shipping limits? FBA goods not being put on shelves and even lost? !

On July 13, Amazon changed the minimum IPI threshold requirement to 500. Sellers with an IPI below 500 will be subject to storage restrictions from August 16, 2020 to the end of the year.

Now, more than a month has passed since the warehousing and shipping restrictions were implemented, but many sellers are still facing problems such as cancelled shipping plans, goods still not being put on shelves, and inconsistent quantities of goods received and shipped. Some of these problems are accidental events caused by the sellers themselves, while some problems seem to have never been alleviated......

Shipments that exceed the shipping limit will be cancelled

As early as March 17, when the delivery quantity was restricted for the first time, many sellers followed the "Tutorial on Breaking the Delivery Restriction", but ended up having their accounts blocked.

After Amazon restricted the number of shipments again on July 13, a large number of sellers still ignored the previous lesson and took various measures to break through the shipping restrictions. Now, the consequences of breaking the shipping restrictions have exploded, and a large number of sellers have received news that their new product shipment plans have been cancelled, but the goods have already been shipped.

So will the seller’s goods in transit still be received by Amazon warehouses?

Some sellers consulted customer service, and the customer service's statements were inconsistent as always. Some customer service said that the goods could not enter the warehouse and would be rejected. But some customer service said that they would accept it but would charge an overage fee, which would be expensive. Just a few hundred pieces of goods might cost more than $3,000.

Therefore, even if the goods arrive, they may not be able to be put into storage. Even if the Amazon warehouse can receive them, the seller will face huge excess fees. Then the seller needs to receive them through a third-party overseas warehouse. The whole process is complicated, and the label change fee, storage fee and a series of transfer, warehousing and relocation fees are daunting.

Furthermore, aside from the huge costs of handling these excess shipments, Amazon also warned that if sellers send more items than the limit, it may result in account suspension.

(Complaint request received by a service provider)

Therefore, breaking the shipping restrictions will not only make sellers pay large fees, but also face the risk of having their stores closed. Sellers should not try this operation, as it is not worth the loss.

In addition to the cancellation of shipping plans, the problem of goods still not being able to be put on the shelves has also been plaguing sellers.

Does getting goods on the shelves depend on luck?

The policy of restricting replenishment and storage restrictions has been implemented for more than a month. Some sellers have raised questions: Has Amazon’s listing speed really been increased?

Many sellers said excitedly: Of course not!!!

Seller A: The tracking number of the air shipment showed that the goods arrived on July 30, but Amazon has not sent a receipt email so far, and the goods are not pre-sold and have not been put on the shelves.

Seller B: IND9, two UPS red orders arrived on July 30 and July 31, and now none of them can be checked in. It's a long wait. Are there any friends who would like to challenge me?

Seller C: 3 cartons were checked in on the 28th, and the remaining 12 cartons have not been moved yet.

Seller D: I put them on the shelves on August 8th. I sent them 1,000, but they only put 37 items on the shelves. I’m so upset that they can’t do anything with so few items on the shelves!

Of course, some sellers also said that it seems to be faster. Seller E: ONT8 seems to be faster. My goods were shipped quickly. I signed for them on 8.18 and Amazon started to receive them on 8.19.

Some sellers said that it depends on the warehouse. They put one or two boxes on the shelves a week after signing for the CLT2, and then not put them on the shelves for a month.

As for which warehouses have the most serious overstocking situation, after a seller opened a case for consultation, the customer service provided the following information:

Hardest hit areas: SDF8 PHX6 PHX3 DAL3 MIA1 FTW8

Critical area: STL4 SDC1 CLE2 STX2 LGA9 DCA1 JAX2 RDU1 FTW3 PHX7 PHL1

Customer service said that these are particularly slow, and the other warehouses are okay, but the time is also uncertain. Of course, this information is for reference only, because FTW1 is not on the list.

At least there is some hope if you rely on luck to put the goods on the shelves, but many sellers directly stated that after the goods were put into storage, the quantity was wrong and more than half of the goods were lost!

The quantity received and shipped is inconsistent

A seller asked in the seller communication group: Are there many inconsistencies between the quantity of your FBA shipments received and the quantity of your shipments in the past few months?

A seller said: The warehouse information has been updated. 99 items were sent, but only 25 were received, and then it showed that the acceptance was completed.

One seller said that he had a ticket with 150 items shipped, but 100 items were lost, and Amazon compensated him before he even sold them. Regarding the price of compensation, if the seller has not changed the price, the compensation will be based on the selling price, but if the price has been changed, the compensation will be based on the average of all selling prices.

As for how to claim, as long as it shows that the warehousing is completed and the quantity is incorrect, the seller can provide the tracking code and receipt to claim in the background.

Some sellers said that they did not even notice the inconsistency in quantity, but Amazon automatically sent them emails offering compensation.

But some sellers are not so lucky! One seller said that one item was missing from his shipment, and Amazon customer service responded that they would not make a claim.

Regarding this situation, some sellers explained that if you cannot click "View Shipment Differences and Shipment Difference Query Quantity" in the completed inventory status, you cannot make a claim, and it is possible that the goods are damaged rather than lost.

Therefore, sellers need to always pay attention to the progress of their goods to avoid unnecessary losses.

Prime Day and the peak season are approaching, but many sellers who are already out of stock are still experiencing the above problems. This is really worrying. If sellers have any good solutions or if you want to complain, you can discuss it in the comments section.
