What is India WPC ETA wireless product certification? India WPC ETA wireless product certification review
In order to effectively manage spectrum resources, the Indian Ministry of Communications established the Wireless Planning and Coordination Wing (WPC) in 1952. Therefore, all products with wireless functions need to obtain WPC certification before they can enter the Indian market.

WPC Logo

WPC mainly manages the frequency bands below 3000GHz, and all wireless transmissions that do not use manual control are considered wireless communications. There are two types of certification for wireless products, ETA (equipment type of approval) and license. For devices that use free and open frequency bands, you need to apply for ETA certification, while for devices that use non-free and open frequency bands, such as GSM, WCDMA mobile phones, etc., you need to apply for a license.

Applicants need to obtain the product's RF report before applying, which can be the EU RED directive or the US FCC standard. The test report needs to be issued by an ISO17025 standard laboratory, and the laboratory must have MRA certification. After obtaining the report, complete the application to WPC and obtain a number.
