Categories Requiring Approval is a policy officially introduced by Amazon to ensure the quality of service to customers. It stipulates that sellers must obtain official permission from Amazon when adding products in certain categories.



Cause

Therefore, Amazon only allows high-quality sellers with certain strength and compliance with the rules (screened through classification review) to sell these products to maximize customer demand and provide customers with better services.


2. Convenience: In order to allow users to buy reliable products and enjoy high-quality services, Amazon not only closely monitors existing sellers, but also conducts strict reviews on products uploaded by new sellers to prevent market concerns about product safety, quality, brand or import and export restrictions, and so classification review came into being.

Materials Required for Amazon Category Review


1. Receipts, invoices, and packing lists. They must be valid within 90 days and contain the address and contact information of the supplier and the purchaser.


2. Relevant certificates: CE certificate for electronics; FDA certificate for cosmetics and skin care products; nickel content certificate for jewelry, etc.


3. Corporate website. It must be a corporate website with a first-level domain name, such as auto parts category.


4. A deposit of $500 is required for Fine Jewelry. The deposit is non-refundable.


5. Send samples. For jewelry Fine category, you need to send samples to Amazon’s review team for inspection.


Amazon Category Review Requirements


1. Have the UPC or EAN barcode ready for adding products later;

3. Product images must have a white background, and it is best to provide the address of the company's website when submitting the review form;


4. After submitting the form, Amazon staff will review your information and then contact you by email. Please check your email address;


5. The sales plan of the account must be a professional seller. Ordinary sellers cannot do category review. (If you are an ordinary seller and want to do category review, you need to change the sales plan to a professional seller in Setting-Accountinfo. Generally, the change is effective on the same day);


6. The ODR (Order defect rate) order defect rate is less than 1%. If it is higher than 1%, you need to wait until the ODR returns to normal before doing a classification review. Therefore, it is recommended to operate the store for a while and lower the ODR index before doing a classification review;


7. Pre-fulfillment cancel rate <2.5%;


8. Late shipment rate: <4%;


9. 5 product photos that meet Amazon's requirements;

Common problems and solutions in classification audit


1. If Amazon does not respond to a case for a category review within 12 hours, it will be closed. If it is within 2 days, the case can be reopened. Just click Reopen to reply to the case and it will be back to normal. If it has been completely closed, you can only reopen the case.


2. What to do if the classification review fails: It is best to succeed in one go. If it fails, just submit the application for classification review again. Learn from the reasons for the previous failure and make the application go more smoothly.


3. Images are often rejected as unqualified: The requirements for images in the classification review are very strict. If an image is rejected, it must be revised according to Amazon's requirements before submission. People who frequently review may have different standards, so the review standards may have some deviations, but they are generally the same idea. At this time, you need to be patient when submitting information and modify it in time according to the requirements.


4. No response after submitting the application for category review: Generally, you will get a response within 12 hours after submitting the application for category review. If there is no response for a long time, reply to the case to urge Amazon. If there is still no response, you can open a new case and inform the case ID of this case, and ask Amazon to help urge it. (This will definitely get a response)


5. I have received an email saying that the category has passed the classification review and can be sold, but I cannot publish the product: In this case, you usually need to wait 2 hours or until the next day for the backend to respond. If you still cannot publish the product of this category the next day, reply to the email that passed the review, inform the account status, and ask them to help solve it.
