In December, three important Amazon compliance regulations will take effect. If the compliance is not completed within the specified time, the link will be removed from the shelves at the least, and the account will be suspended at the worst. The following are the key time points for the implementation and removal of relevant compliance policies:
Complying with compliance requirements is the key to maintaining stable business development. Check to see if you have completed them all. The General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) will officially come into effect on December 13 this year! According to Amazon's estimates, it generally takes sellers about three months to complete GPSR compliance requirements and store products that meet GPSR label requirements in Amazon FBA warehouses. If the standards are not met in time, not only will new products be affected, but even products in transit will also be at risk . The strict supervision of GPSR will directly affect the sales chain, which may cause the product to be removed from the platform , so sellers who have not registered, uploaded, or labeled should hurry up and handle it! Accelerate the compliance process and ensure that all compliance requirements are successfully completed before the key time nodes set by the platform. Path: Click "Regulatory Compliance" in "Seller Central > Performance > Account Health > Policy Compliance". Compliance points: (Choose to upload according to the needs of your product, choose one of the three) 1. Product safety documents (uploaded separately for each site): such as instruction manuals and user manuals. PDF files should be within 10MB and use/contain the language of the sales site. ② Warning and safety pictures (only one EU site needs to be uploaded): Product/product packaging pictures showing safety warning information. Make sure that the safety warning information uses/contains the language of the sales site. If one picture can fully display the safety warning information, then 6 pictures are not required. ③ Product Safety Proof (just check one EU site): This option is for products that may not require warnings and safety information. If Amazon determines that the ASIN requires warnings and safety information, the option for product safety proof will not appear. ④EU responsible person information (uploaded separately for each site) : After successfully uploading the EU responsible person information, the seller needs to select the information and click Save in the lower right corner to ensure that the EU responsible person is highlighted in dark blue. It takes about 7 working days to upload the manufacturer and person in charge information based on the brand dimension; it takes about 5 working days for product warnings and safety pictures, and it takes about 7 working days for product safety documents. Recently, there has been a large amount of uploads in this window, and Amazon is expediting the processing. Please be patient. If your brand or ASIN has been moved to the "Archived" subpage in the Regulatory Compliance page (as shown below), or to the "Completed" subpage in the Manage Your Compliance page, it is considered compliant. In addition to uploading the warning and safety information, EU responsible person and manufacturer required by the regulation to regulatory compliance and displaying them on the product details page, you also need to ensure that the labeling of your product complies with the requirements of GPSR (displaying the following 4 types of information). According to IRS regulations, non-US taxpayers need to provide Amazon with an updated W-8 form to be exempt from US tax reporting requirements. The IRS W-8 form will expire on December 31, three years after the seller provides this form to Amazon. When prompted, overseas sellers need to retake the tax information interview to submit a new form. If you receive a reminder from Amazon stating that your W-8 form is about to expire or has expired, you must retake the tax identity information interview. If you are a non-U.S. tax resident and you cannot provide an updated Form W-8, Amazon will suspend your selling privileges until you provide updated tax identity information. Failure to update your tax information as required will be considered a violation of Amazon's selling policies and your account will be suspended until you provide updated tax identity information. Note the compliance points: ✅Once the seller has completed the update of the US tax identity information, if an electronic signature is provided, it may take up to 3-5 days to verify your tax information. Once the verification is complete, your status will be automatically updated. If you choose to mail a paper document instead of agreeing to an electronic signature, Amazon will take 10-15 business days to process it after receiving it. ✅During the U.S. tax identity information filling process, if you are an individual or sole proprietor, or a limited liability company that is an exempt entity owned by an individual, your tax classification can be "Individual". Otherwise, please select "Business" as your tax classification. All European and UK sellers please note that the country of origin/COO information must be completed before December 31, 2024 . Under EU-UK customs trade regulations, Amazon collects Country of Origin (COO) information for products shipped through the Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) final haul program: 🔹 Shipping into the EU from non-EU countries 🔹 Shipping into the UK from EU and non-EU countries Failure to provide country of origin information for your products (at the SKU level) will have the following impacts on your Amazon Fulfillment products: 🔹 New product selection: If you do not provide the product's country of origin information, you will not be able to successfully create a new product. 🔹 Existing selections: If you do not provide country of origin information for all existing applicable products by December 31, 2024, your products will be restricted from entering and leaving the EU and UK. Sellers who have not yet completed the COO compliance requirements will receive the following reminder on the seller platform. Before December 31, 2024, please click "Confirm" and submit your COO information as soon as possible as required to avoid your products being restricted from entering or leaving the EU and the UK after December 31, 2024 due to missing COO information. How to view the SKUs that require COO? You need to download the "Classification Product Report" by yourself (path: Seller Central > Data Report > Inventory Report > Classification Product Report) to view the SKUs that do not provide COO information. If the "Classification Product Report" option is not displayed on this page, you can contact the seller support partner to grant access to the "Classification Product Report". Final reminder: Since it takes a certain amount of time for Amazon to review the documents, it is recommended that sellers complete compliance in advance to avoid affecting their accounts and ASIN sales permissions. |
