Recently, Amazon UK announced an important update. According to the FHDDS (Fulfilment House Due Diligence Scheme, warehouse service operator due diligence scheme), from January 1, 2024, for goods entering the UK operation center, sellers must provide the product import entry number (IEN).

The implementation of this new regulation aims to ensure the compliance and transparency of commodity imports and strengthen supervision of warehousing service operators. Sellers need to pay special attention to the fact that this regulation will officially take effect on June 30, 2024, European time.

1. Amazon UK requires sellers to submit IEN in a timely manner:

This requirement mainly applies to goods entering Amazon's UK distribution center from April 1, 2024. Sellers need to provide accurate IEN information for each batch of goods through the shipment processing progress page of the Amazon seller platform within 60 days after the arrival of the goods.

2. Request the seller to add IEN to historical shipments:

In addition to new goods entering the fulfillment center, sellers are also required to trace and update the import entry numbers of previous shipments. Sellers will need to provide IEN information for past shipments created and warehoused in Amazon's UK fulfillment centers starting in 2024.

3. Require sellers to keep records of goods:

According to the requirements of the UK Revenue and Customs Administration, sellers need to keep records of goods for 6 years for review. This includes all documents and information related to IEN. In order to cope with this requirement, sellers need to establish a sound record management system to ensure that all necessary documents and information are properly kept within the prescribed retention period. This will not only help sellers cope with possible reviews, but also help improve operational efficiency and management level.

The U.S. Postal Service launches a new round of investigations into leaked accounts

The new round of fraud investigation by the United States Postal Service (USPS) will undoubtedly set off a storm in the logistics industry. Fraudulent accounts, as a form of bad freight forwarding behavior that exploits loopholes in international express companies to create false shipping orders, change shipping addresses, etc., have caused serious losses to the USPS and the entire logistics industry.

In order to maintain the normal order of postal services and protect the rights and interests of consumers and legitimate sellers, USPS has decided to implement stricter real-time verification measures for payment documents starting August 1, 2024. Sellers who need to join the seller communication group, please contact customer service V: FLA66668888 This action means that if the payment documents of the package fail to pass the verification during the first scan at the USPS facility, the package will be immediately intercepted and processed, and will not re-enter the mail flow, and the sender will not receive any compensation.

The implementation of this severe measure will have a great deterrent effect on sellers who use fake accounts. Not only will they face the risk of having their goods seized and destroyed, they may also be punished by the platform and even face the serious consequence of having their store blocked. In addition, the cleanup operation may also bring about a series of chain reactions, such as product out of stock, delayed logistics, etc., which will have a huge impact on business operations. Sellers who need to arrange for off-site promotion of celebrity videos, please contact customer service V: FLA66668888

In order to avoid these risks, some sellers try to turn to alternative logistics methods such as truck delivery. However, although truck delivery can bypass the inspection of some logistics companies, its efficiency is slow and is affected by factors such as warehouse overflow in popular warehouses, which will seriously affect the logistics timeliness...

For sellers, there is no way to completely eliminate the possibility of fraudulent accounts or illegal freight forwarders. Sellers can only reduce risks by selecting freight forwarders:

1. Beware of price traps:

If the price offered by a freight forwarding service provider is far below the market price, this is often a warning sign. Low prices may mean poor service quality or even a promotional tactic of a fraudulent account. Therefore, when choosing a freight forwarder, sellers should not only pursue low prices, but should consider price, service quality and reliability.

2. Look at the company's strength:

It is very important to choose a strong freight forwarding company. Sellers can check the credit record, formal qualifications and company size of the freight forwarding company. In addition, they can also learn about the service quality and customer satisfaction of the freight forwarding company through the Internet or word of mouth in the industry. Choosing a freight forwarding company with a good reputation and strength can ensure that the goods are transported safely and efficiently.

3. Pay attention to system information:

Sellers should frequently check the tracking information of the goods to ensure that the freight forwarding company transports the goods according to the time and route specified in the contract. If the freight tracking information is found to be abnormal or the freight forwarding company fails to update the information on time, the seller should contact the freight forwarding company in time to understand the situation. This will help sellers to identify potential problems in time and take measures to avoid delays or loss of goods.
