Sustainable concepts prevail! Etsy launches environmentally friendly packaging!

According to foreign media reports, Etsy recently announced a partnership with eco-friendly packaging company EcoEnclose to provide sellers with 100% recyclable paper packaging. The newly launched eco-friendly packaging will first be available to US sellers and will be introduced to other countries in the future.

Etsy said that it has always adhered to the concept of sustainable development and hopes to achieve green purchasing, green packaging, and green transportation services. In the future, Etsy will continue to cooperate with EcoEnclose or other sustainable packaging companies to promote environmentally friendly packaging. In addition, Etsy will use 100% renewable electricity to power its offices and machine operations.

It is learned that in the United States, the recycling rate of paper materials is as high as 96.5%. 57% of Etsy buyers said that if the product is in recyclable packaging, they are more likely to buy it. The paper packaging launched by Etsy can be reused or directly recycled, which will strongly promote consumer purchasing power.

According to data from Oceana, the use of plastic packaging bags will increase from 942 million kilograms in 2019 to 2.056 billion kilograms in 2025. Currently, retailers such as Walmart and Lazada have realized the harm caused by plastic packaging and are seeking sustainable and environmentally friendly alternatives.
