Pat you! What new Amazon rules did you miss during the holidays?

Today is the first day of work after the double holidays.

You at this moment

Did you just yawn?

I'm still thinking about the movies and milk tea during the holidays

Then he slowly turned on the computer.

Have fun chatting in the seller communication group

The picture comes from the seller communication group

Prime Day is coming soon, and sellers need to focus after the holiday. What major events on Amazon did you miss during the 8-day holiday? What policies has Amazon updated? Let's learn together with the editor~

1

Amazon Extended 2020 Holiday Return Policy

Under the 2020 Amazon Holiday Returns Extension Policy, most orders shipped between October 1 and December 31 can be returned before January 31, 2021. This policy applies to both seller-fulfilled orders and Amazon-fulfilled orders.

It is understood that the policy was notified in mid-September and came into effect on October 1, with the return period for many product categories extended to 4 months.

For Amazon, which puts buyer experience first, this policy is undoubtedly one of its means to please consumers, but it is not so friendly to sellers and has instead caused many complaints.

Amazon temporarily changes truck carrier proof of delivery

On October 8, Amazon posted a notice in the background regarding a "temporary change in truck load carrier proof of delivery."

The notice stated that in order to protect the health and safety of Amazon and delivery company employees, we are currently not providing stamped bills of lading to truck load carriers after the shipment arrives at the Amazon fulfillment center . Carriers can provide digital screenshots of the delivery appointment as proof of delivery upon request.

Amazon Releases New Brand Registry Process

On October 7, Amazon updated two requirements regarding the new brand registration process. The main information is as follows:

1. If you are a brand owner, you need to provide at least one image showing your brand name, logo or other identifying mark on the product or packaging.

2. You also need to provide at least one ASIN for each product category where you sell the brand.

3. For brands that do not sell on Amazon, you can choose to report the product classification yourself instead of providing ASIN.

Some sellers speculate that this policy means that they do not need to register a trademark, and only need to provide the above documents to register the brand. The authenticity of this statement is still under discussion, but combined with the example of Amazon’s announcement of changes to the GTIN exemption requirements some time ago, it can be seen that Amazon is also constantly improving the seller experience.

It is understood that from September 30, 2020, Amazon's GTIN exemption policy will be gradually introduced. Sellers only need to provide the product name and pictures showing all aspects of the product and packaging, without the need to provide a letter of certification from the brand owner.

Amazon launches "virtual bundles" feature

Previously, Amazon launched the "virtual bundle product" feature for brand owners.

The announcement stated: If you are a brand owner, you can now create virtual bundles using Amazon Logistics (FBA) ASINs to help you increase sales. Using the new virtual bundle tool, you can create a new bundle detail page that allows customers to purchase complementary products at the same time at a discounted price.

"Virtual Bundled Goods" feature advantages:

  • Create virtual bundles for free using your existing FBA inventory.

  • Maximize profits through competitive pricing and offering bundled services.

  • Product bundles can drive sales of multiple items in your store, increase sales, and clear out inventory.

So the above is the key content that sellers need to learn in this issue. The countdown to the peak season is approaching. I wonder if sellers are ready?

The editor once again reminds sellers that while making preparations for the peak season, they should also pay more attention to platform policies and news, prepare inventory reasonably, pay attention to logistics conditions and international situations, and adjust sales strategies in a timely manner.
