According to a survey conducted by the National Retail Federation and Prosper Insights & Analytics on 8,155 consumers in the United States from March 1 to 9, American consumers plan to spend an average of $169.79 on Easter-related products this year. 80% of Americans will celebrate Easter and will spend $20.8 billion, slightly lower than the $21.6 billion predicted last year. 51% of consumers plan to celebrate in person, up from 43% last year. Food will be the largest spending category, with Americans planning to spend $3 billion on Easter candy and an average of $53.61 on food, followed by gifts ($28.04) and clothing ($27.93). Even those Americans who don’t celebrate Easter still plan to spend an average of $18.49. Inflation concerns are prompting consumers to seek the best value for money when shopping for Easter holidays. If the price of Easter-related items is higher than expected, 42% of consumers said they would switch retailers and 31% would look for alternatives such as different brands or colors. Like last year, 50% of consumers plan to buy gifts at discount stores, 41% at department stores and 35% online. John Lewis sales of Easter decorations increased by 336% in 2021, searches for "bunny" decorations on Wayfair.com increased by 200%, and searches for cake stands also increased significantly. British searches for Easter on Etsy even soared by 1,433%. It is learned that the interior design experts of Crafted Beds combined Pinterest, TikTok, Instagram and Google search data to find out the hot trends in Easter decorations in 2022. The number of searches for "Easter tree" on Pinterest increased by 63% in a week. #eastertree has been viewed on TikTok for more than 1.4 million times. This "new" trend of Easter trees comes from the old German tradition of hanging Easter decorations on bare branches. Light strings, egg-shaped decorations, bunnies and chicks are popular decorations, and soft tones are the most popular. Searching for the word "easter" on Amazon US, we found that the search rankings for Easter decorations have soared this week. For example, the search ranking for "esater basket stuffers" has risen to second place this week, and the search ranking for "Easter basket" has also risen by 23 places to 11th place this week. In addition, the search volume for "Easter decorations", "Easter candy" and "Easter eggs" has also increased significantly. Easter is coming on April 17th.
