According to Emplicit, nearly all (86%) U.S. consumers have purchased products on Amazon that they have never tried before, and more than a third (35%) of consumers say Amazon is their primary way to discover new brands. The survey also showed that Prime membership service is an important reason for American consumers to shop on Amazon. Among them, 50% of consumers said they like the Prime delivery experience provided by Amazon. Another 40% of consumers said that it is easier to open a new account on Amazon than on other websites. Emplicit COO Brian Byer noted that the survey confirms that consumers trust and like using Amazon as their shopping portal. For sellers, it is important to have a presence on Amazon. A recent study from ChannelAdvisor shows that Amazon and Google are the main channels for consumers to search and research products. In the past 12 months, 89% and 82% of consumers have researched products on Amazon and Google, respectively. Other top platforms are eBay (52%), Facebook (27%) and Instagram (24%).
