Walmart launches inventory delivery service for third-party sellers to speed up delivery!

Walmart has begun rolling out a new inventory-centric solution as part of its Walmart Delivery service for third-party sellers, according to a LinkedIn post from June.

“Our new solution enables seamless and efficient transfer of inventory to Walmart fulfillment centers, optimizing supply chain logistics and speeding up delivery to customers,” Jaré Buckley-Cox, vice president of Walmart Delivery Services, said in a LinkedIn post.

Buckley-Cox said the new Inventory Transfer Service (ITS) will help sellers improve inventory availability, save on shipping costs by shipping goods to a single location, and provide faster shipping times through better two-day and next-day shipping coverage.

“Sellers with high-demand inventory will be able to use ITS to sort their inventory,” Buckley-Cox said.

In 2020, the retail giant launched Walmart Fulfillment Service. It is reported that the goal of Walmart Fulfillment Service is to bring in-demand products and increase revenue from the company's existing e-commerce infrastructure.

Walmart, along with other companies like Amazon, Shipbob, Flowspace and Shopify, are working to create their own platforms, custom-tailored for e-tailers, giving sellers multiple options.
