CPSC recalls tens of thousands of children's racing cars! Available on Amazon and other platforms

It is learned that on April 25, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall of JAKKS Pacific's Mario Kart series of children's racing cars due to the risk of collision.

It is understood that the recalled products are Mario Kart 24V driving racing cars, which are mainly red, white and blue, with the letter "M" on the front of the car. The recalled batches involve the following date codes: 1752VE01, 1782VE01, 1952VE01, 2242VE01, 2352VE01, 2852VE01, 0583VE01, located on the blue panel at the bottom of the vehicle.

Between October 2022 and January 2024, about 17,500 units of the product were sold on Amazon, Target, Walmart and other online stores for about $400. The CPSC said that the accelerator pedal of the racing car may be blocked by debris, and the pedal will remain stuck after it is released, and will continue to accelerate and cause a collision. Currently, JAKKS Pacific has received 65 reports of debris blockage, including 15 collisions with buildings, causing minor injuries to a child.

The CPSC said consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and contact JAKKS Pacific to receive a free repair kit, which includes a replacement pedal and installation instructions.
