Are you doing VINE for Amazon's new products? Why I gave up decisively!

Are you doing VINE for Amazon's new products? Why I gave up decisively!

Many seller friends will consider whether to obtain reviews through VINE when putting new products on the shelves.

I believe that 99% of the sellers have tried this approach, but in the end, Zhaodanmao chose to give up VINE.

Today, Zhaodanmao wants to talk to you about why we no longer rely on VINE, and share some insights and thoughts, hoping that it will be helpful to you.

VINE collection speed is too slow and inefficient

If you think you can get reviews quickly through VINE, I'm afraid you will be disappointed.

Promotion of VINE The effect is not as good as expected, especially the speed of collection is very slow , which makes a lot of opportunities lost during the new product promotion period .

There are two main reasons for the slowness:

① Lack of product appeal

If your product isn’t eye-catching enough, recipients may not be interested at all.

Moreover, VINE participants often have to pay part of the taxes and fees for high-priced products. The more expensive the product, the higher the cost they bear, which greatly reduces their willingness to receive it.

② Threshold for price setting

To speed up the collection, you have to lower the price significantly.

But in this case, you will have to slowly adjust back to the normal price later, which is time-consuming and affects the promotion rhythm, which is really a headache.

Comments are risky and uncontrollable

The second biggest problem with VINE is the uncontrollability of comments, which carries considerable risks.

① Bad reviews ruin the whole situation

Imagine that you sent out 30 samples at once through VINE and got more than 20 positive reviews, but two or three negative reviews could ruin the performance of the entire link.

This is still the part you can control, not to mention the negative reviews left by those unpredictable real VINE recipients.

② Violations and cost issues

Sometimes we try to get VINE reviews by taking advantage of free credits , but this can easily trigger Amazon’s rule warnings or even lead to violations.

In order to avoid these risks, the cost of using third-party service providers to intervene is high, time-consuming and costly, and the results may not be good.

VINE has limited weight and is difficult to help improve rankings

What made Zhaodanmao even more determined to give up VINE was that it provided almost no help to its weighting.

① Static Review is useless

Although VINE reviews can slightly increase the conversion rate of products, from the perspective of Amazon's weight algorithm, the impact of VINE is minimal.

This kind of static review cannot improve the ranking of your product link within Amazon at all.

② Dynamic links are king

After many tests, Zhaodanmao found that consumers who actually purchased and left positive reviews were the key to improving link weight.

Therefore, Zhaodanmao now prefers to use other more effective methods, such as direct reviews or binding seed links, to ensure the conversion rate is stable, and then gradually optimize the promotion link through advertising and evaluation.

New product promotion: a more controllable and efficient way

Based on the above points, Zhaodanmao completely gave up VINE.

Now Zhaodanmao prefers controllable and low-cost new product promotion strategies .

Instead of taking high risks by using VINE, it is better to gradually improve product weight and performance by ensuring basic conversions, optimizing advertising and accurate evaluation.

In general, VINE’s help in promoting new products is very limited, and its uncontrollable risks and high costs make it a strategy that “looks good but is actually not cost-effective.”

If you are considering using VINE to promote new products, you might as well rethink and choose more flexible and controllable methods so that you can stand out in the fierce competition on Amazon.
