It is learned that the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recently announced the recall of Bausch & Lomb's Project Watson dog eyelid wipes due to the risk of infection. The recalled products are two batches of 45-pack eyelid wipes in round containers with screw caps and blue and white labels. The labels are printed with "PROJECT WATSON" and "BAUSCH+LOMB", and the recall batch number A09050 or A10055 is printed on the bottom of the container. The CPSC said that when the product is opened and used, bacteria and fungi may enter the container and grow in it, posing a serious risk of infection to people with weakened immune systems or wounds. About 32,000 of the products were sold between February 2023 and March 2024 at stores such as Amazon, Walmart and Chewy and online, priced between $13 and $15. Bausch & Lomb has received seven reports of other substances in the products, but no illnesses have been reported in consumers or pets. The CPSC said consumers should immediately stop using the recalled wipes, place them in a container for disposal in the trash, and submit photos of the product to apply for a full refund, which will be sent to consumers in the form of a check via mail.
