It is learned that the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recently announced the recall of Baseus' magnetic wireless power bank because its lithium battery may overheat and pose a fire hazard.

It is understood that the recalled products involve Baseus power banks with model numbers PPCXM06 and PPCXW06, which are available in white, black, light blue and light pink. Both models have magnetic surfaces that can be attached to mobile phones with magnetic charging functions. The model number is displayed on the magnetic surface of the product, and "20W" is displayed on the non-magnetic surface . The product size of model PPCXM06 is approximately 4 inches x 2-½ inches x 0.64 inches, and the product size of model PPCXW06 is approximately 4 inches x 2-½ inches x ½ inches.

Between April 2022 and April 2024, approximately 132,000 units of the product were sold on Amazon.com, AliExpress.com, and Baseus.com, with prices ranging from $18 to $55. To date, Baseus has received 171 reports of incidents, including 132 reports of battery swelling and 39 reports of fires, resulting in 13 burns and approximately $20,000 in property damage.

CPSC said consumers should immediately stop using the recalled power banks, dispose of the batteries according to local and state regulations, and contact Baseus for a full refund (proof of purchase required) or a $36 cash refund (no proof of purchase required). Baseus and Amazon will notify all known purchasers directly.
