More than 250,000 children's speakers have been recalled for the second time! Available at Amazon and Target

It is learned that on December 12, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced another recall of Yoto's Yoto Mini children's speaker due to the risk of burns and fire.

It is understood that the recalled Yoto Mini is a portable screenless speaker suitable for children aged 3 to 12 years old. The speaker is light gray with orange buttons and a pixel display. The base of the product is marked with the model name Yoto Mini, SKU code PRPLXX00860 and serial number. The product is sold with a charging cable, but no adapter or charger. The CPSC said that the lithium battery equipped with this product may overheat and catch fire, causing burns and fire hazards.

Between November 2021 and April 2024, about 251,165 units of the product were sold on Yoto's official website, Amazon, Target and other online stores, priced at about $70. Currently, Yoto has received 12 reports from consumers in the United States and the United Kingdom about overheating or melting of the speakers, and no injuries have been reported.

The CPSC said consumers should immediately stop using the recalled speakers and contact Yoto to receive a free battery replacement kit, even if they already received a smart charging cable as part of the April recall.
