Amazon's new feature is online! My brother-in-law actually copied Taobao


As the originator of e-commerce platforms, Amazon was the model for imitators such as Taobao and JD.com in their early stages of development. JD.com even copied Amazon's self-operated and Prime membership model.


But Amazon was eventually pushed off the altar by the up-and-coming companies, and just this week announced its withdrawal from the Chinese market (click here for details). Amazon has learned from its mistakes and is determined to learn from these Chinese e-commerce juniors.


This time, my brother-in-law directly targeted Taobao's live broadcast function and recently launched Amazon's own live shopping module.

Unlike Taobao, which is directly integrated into the function page of the APP, Amazon's live shopping function requires buyers to install a special software "Amazon Live Creator" before they can watch the live broadcast and shop. Currently, there is only an Apple version (IOS)



When this feature was announced, it was announced that it would be fully open to Chinese sellers in the near future. All sellers who have passed Brand Registration 2.0 are eligible to apply to participate.


Amazon Live allows sellers to show consumers how their products are used in live broadcasts. Buyers can also purchase products directly through the link below the video , which is a very helpful feature for conversion rates.


Amazon Live is still in a stage of rapid update, and Amazon is still adding more features to this module.


In the latest update, Amazon Live has been able to realize functions such as "real-time viewing statistics", "click and conversion rate CTR statistics of replayed videos", and "directly display brand store products in the live broadcast window" .



Buyers can now even communicate with sellers who are live streaming. It can be said that the functionality is almost the same as Taobao Live or other live streaming platforms.


Amazon has been trying to get into the live streaming business for a long time. As early as 2017, Amazon launched a live streaming program called "Style Code Live" to showcase clothing matching and beauty tutorials.


However, the response was ultimately bleak , and Amazon seemed unable to find a better solution. Until the short video craze emerged in China, the rise of major live broadcast and short video platforms provided Amazon with a very good reference direction.


The finished product Amazon gave us is now Amazon Live. Amazon obviously has high hopes for this new feature. While copying a lot of mature functions and experience from Taobao Live to improve its own APP, it also provides sufficient traffic support to attract sellers to settle in.


Sellers can not only display live broadcasts on their own products or brand flagship store pages, but can even gain additional exposure and display in the Amazon app. According to official instructions, traffic can be increased by more than five times!
