Amazon Logistics New Changes! Non-compliant shipments will be rejected

Amazon has always had strict regulations for replenishment of goods to FBA warehouses. Sellers who have done replenishment/shipping operations have a vague idea of it, but few people know the specific values. Generally, the freight forwarder notifies the seller. In fact, there are clear regulations on this standard in the background.

Recently, our friends in the group received a notice from the freight forwarder that the FBA logistics standards were recently updated by Amazon. Many of them were confused. Why didn’t Amazon notify us when making such an important change?

Yes, this shipment standard was indeed recently updated by Amazon Europe. However, according to some sellers on the European site, Amazon did not notify sellers on a large scale before and after the update. Let me tell you in detail.

What are the updated shipment regulations?

Shipment regulations

Apart from some common restrictions, such as each box has to have a unified number and sets sold must be marked as sets, etc., I believe these are common sense. I will focus on a few points that need attention.

  • The first is the weight limit for a single box. It has been adjusted from 30kg/box to 23kg/box . This is the change that is most likely to affect sellers. Sellers on the European site must pay attention to the weight of a single box when creating a shipping plan again.

  • If the weight of a single box is between 15kg and 23kg , each box must be marked with "Heavy Package" on the top and side , remember to mark it in English. Or if there is a special pattern printed on the box, it is also ok, you can contact your freight forwarder for consultation.

There are still many sellers who did not receive timely information and did not handle the shipments in accordance with regulations. What will happen if the shipment requirements are violated? Let’s see what the official regulations are.

It is highly likely that the illegal shipments will be rejected by the FBA warehouse, and the shipment rights may even be suspended. However, if there are no serious violations, Amazon will probably issue a warning for rectification, which means that the seller should handle the subsequent shipments in accordance with the regulations, and there will be no major problems.

The European site has been in turmoil recently. In addition to quietly updating the shipment standards, many sellers have received emails asking them to upload VAT tax numbers for France, Italy and Spain .

If the tax number is not uploaded before June 30, the store’s sales rights will be removed!

After VAT tax compliance has been implemented in the UK and Germany, when the remaining three of the five European countries (France, Italy and Spain) will follow up with VAT policies has always been a concern for sellers on the European site.

This time, France, Italy and Spain have strongly required sellers to upload tax numbers, and it is likely that there will be a wave of strict inspections in the future . Sellers who sell at these sites or use FBA warehouses should pay more attention!

Finally, I have prepared a list of VAT usage precautions for everyone. For sellers in Europe or those who want to enter the European market, please scan the QR code below and send me a private message to receive it~

In addition, in order to provide an effective and timely solution platform for Amazon sellers to solve the operational problems they encounter on a daily basis, we gathered together big sellers from various industries in June last year to operate an exclusive knowledge sharing circle.

In addition to the fixed daily Q&A sessions , 12 guest sellers from different fields will also regularly share their Amazon experiences and skills in the circle.
