Recently, sellers often complain in our group that "Amazon backend is too slow now!" And this slowdown is not an isolated phenomenon, a large number of sellers have reported this problem. Although Amazon is a "technical" tech giant with frequent bugs, the backend is generally very stable. The large-scale backend lag in the past two days is probably because Amazon is updating something. Yes, the backend is updating the page. Some sellers on the US site can already try out the new version, but some stores have not yet completed the update. However, the Japanese site has completed the update first. Let's take a look at what the backend updates are. ◆ ◆ ◆ ◆ Background page update content The content of this update mainly involves changes on the page. The Japanese site has been updated from a backend page similar to the US site to the one shown below. Compared with the original page, the main difference is that there are a few more modules at the top. By default, there are only three modules: inventory monitoring, replenishment, and news. In fact, the probability of these functions appearing in daily operations is relatively low. It would be very useful if they could be changed to advertising, business reports, etc. But no, these three modules do not support customized pages. I thought I could customize the module by clicking the three dots in the upper right corner of the module, but the result is... I can only rate the module... The Japanese site was switched to this new interface without my knowledge. Even if I clicked "Reset to default view" at the end of the page, I couldn't go back to the old version of the page. The three modules were still at the top. However, after all the operations, I have some inferences about Amazon's update ideas. What we can access now is just the tip of the iceberg of the background page update. The entire page system is still in an unfinished state, so we feel that it is ugly and difficult to use. What Amazon really wants to achieve is the comprehensive modularization of the entire seller center. ◆ ◆ ◆ ◆ Comprehensive modularization of the Seller Center Modularity is not a new word. In fact, we can also regard the old version of the seller page as a coordinated page composed of multiple modules, including news, inventory monitoring, sales, performance, account balance and other modules. ▲Each red box marks a separate module However, the old version is an incomplete modular page because sellers cannot choose the content displayed in each module and do not have the authority to customize the module itself. All sellers have the same backend. In this update, Amazon tried to separate these modules, allowing sellers to choose what content to display on the homepage of their backend center and even perform some simple operations. For example, in this inventory monitoring module, we can directly adjust the self-distributed inventory in this module. Of course, this change can actually be adjusted in the old version of the page, but because this low inventory monitoring mechanism is rarely used. However, if sellers can adjust these modules themselves, this adjustment function will be very useful. For example, we can also set the advertising activity monitoring and business report pages that we use frequently in the homepage module, so that we can check the exposure and visitor data every day, and adjust the bidding in the module. (I edited a picture casually, which roughly means the following) Of course, if advertisements and flash sales can be displayed on the homepage, it will definitely be a long module, not the square above. In short, although it is still in its infancy and there is basically nothing for everyone to adjust, as Amazon gradually expands the scope of updates and improves functions, we will be able to customize the pages of the backend seller center according to our own operating habits. Thinking of this, I seem to understand the real purpose of the "Reset to Default View" button at the beginning. It is not used to return to the old version of the system, but a button to reset the homepage module. According to current information, this change will eventually be forced on every seller even if the seller does not click on the "Try New Version Page". Just looking at the current status of the new page, it will definitely be criticized by the sellers. I hope Amazon can release the customization function of the new page before enforcing it on a large scale. This at least allows sellers to monitor their business reports, advertisements, or flash sale status and other information directly on the homepage, which is very convenient. Flash sales, in particular, often require "attention" due to inventory or price reasons. However, there is no reminder at the front desk now. Sellers who do not frequently visit the flash sale page may have their flash sales cancelled by Amazon. The custom module can be said to be a blessing for these sellers. Finally, I have collected a collection of tips on flash sales for everyone. Please scan the QR code below to get it from me~ PS.
