According to recent reports from US media, a Chinese man was accused by the FBI of selling counterfeit laptop batteries on Amazon and eBay and has been arrested!

The man is Cai Zoulin, 28 years old, a Chinese citizen who moved to the Los Angeles area in 2012. The company is Shenzhen Theseus Technology Co. Ltd.

This is a family-run "business". Cai Zoulin's relatives are responsible for operating and manufacturing counterfeit laptop lithium batteries, while Cai Zoulin is responsible for further operations in the American warehouse!

Cai Zoulin's family imitated the products of many well-known companies, openly affixed the trademarks of Apple, HP, Toshiba, and Dell, as well as counterfeit certification marks of UL, a company that certifies the safety of electronic products, on their own batteries, and sold them through platforms such as Amazon and eBay.

From 2014 to 2019, a total of 6 years, the Cai Zoulin family made a total profit of 23.8 million US dollars, and Cai Zoulin also bought a Maserati sedan!

As the business of Cai Zoulin's family grew bigger and bigger, it finally aroused the vigilance of the infringed companies, and they reported it to FBA and made multiple charges. If the charges are proven, Cai Zoulin will face 50 years in prison.

Amazon Business recruits Chinese sellers

The latest news is that on January 2, it was reported that Amazon Global Selling announced the 2020 Amazon Business China Seller Recruitment Plan. The announcement stated that merchants who are already Amazon Global Selling sellers can log in to the seller platform or search for "Amazon Enterprise Purchasing Mall" on the help page to unlock the Amazon Business function by themselves.

It is understood that Amazon Business is a one-stop commercial procurement site launched by Amazon in the United States in 2015. Corporate and institutional customers can enjoy special prices on selected products through this business.

Asia's richest man enters e-commerce, facing Amazon's pitfalls

Asia’s richest man, Mukesh Ambani, took a step closer to creating an e-commerce giant for India: He announced plans to set up a $24 billion digital services holding company that would become his main vehicle for dominating internet shopping in the country.

The move by Asia’s richest man signals a shift in growth for the petrochemicals group, which is building an online platform to compete in India with services such as Amazon and Walmart’s Flipkart Online Services Pvt. Ambani told shareholders in August that new businesses, including retail, could contribute half of Reliance’s earnings in the next few years, from about 32% currently.

Amazon has another system bug, the login verification code is displayed in garbled characters

Yesterday and today, many sellers needed to use mobile phone verification when logging into their Amazon accounts, but found that the verification codes they received were a bunch of garbled characters.

It stands to reason that this might be a small-scale bug on Amazon, but unexpectedly, the bug has not been fixed until this morning, and it has a tendency to get worse.

Some sellers pointed out that the BUG can be solved by resetting the store login password, restarting the phone and trying again, switching to voice telephone method to receive the verification code, etc.!

Amazon sends another deadly email?

Recently, many sellers have received "warning emails" from Amazon. The content of the email is as follows:

In order to maintain a trustworthy marketplace for buyers and sellers, Amazon may suspend some sellers' accounts and request more information. If a seller's account is suspended for this reason, you can provide relevant information through the connection steps.

Some sellers speculate that Amazon will focus on reviewing store violations in 2020, and there will be a wave of store closures at the beginning of the year!

According to the Chinese customer service, the email was randomly selected and sent to a group of sellers. We estimate that this is just Amazon trying to get more account information from sellers, so there is no need to worry too much!
