The seller's information will be handed over to law enforcement? My brother-in-law is really good at fighting counterfeiting this time!

The proliferation of counterfeit goods on Amazon has always been a headache for my brother-in-law. Since the platform has repeatedly banned it, my brother-in-law finally took drastic measures this time and directly contacted the law enforcement department. Those sellers who sold counterfeit goods suffered!

IKEA withdraws from Amazon

As for why Brother-in-law attaches so much importance to anti-counterfeiting, it can be traced back to the fact that major brands have withdrawn from Amazon. This time, following Nike's withdrawal from Amazon, IKEA also announced that the brand will end its pilot project and withdraw from Amazon in order to explore new areas and acquire more consumers.

It is understood that IKEA first launched a pilot project on Amazon's US site in 2018, first launching "smart lighting products". The project was a trial, and after it ended, it was not put into use.

After ending its cooperation with Amazon, IKEA will actively negotiate cooperation with other brands. It is reported that IKEA plans to develop its own e-commerce platform with functions similar to Amazon.

After a number of well-known brands fled Amazon, my brother-in-law realized the seriousness of the counterfeit problem on the platform, and therefore spared no expense to address this problem!

Share information about illegal sellers with law enforcement

In order to enhance the credibility of its platform and ease public pressure, Amazon began to cooperate with the police.

Amazon.com Inc plans to provide data on counterfeit goods to law enforcement agencies in a bid to further combat fakes on its e-commerce site, according to Reuters.

In recent weeks, Amazon has held meetings with government authorities and organizations to discuss its new counterfeit reporting strategy and how the company can further its enforcement efforts.

After Amazon confirms a business is selling counterfeit goods, closes the seller account and the account holder does not successfully appeal through Amazon's appeals process, it will report the merchant's name, company name, products and contact information to authorities, the people said.

Not only that, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced last week that it would work with Amazon to crack down on illegal imported goods. If the relevant law enforcement agencies take this seriously, it may become difficult for companies with a criminal record to pass customs in the future.

At present, it is unclear when Amazon will implement the new plan. But it can be seen that the brother-in-law is really serious about selling counterfeit goods! After all, if law enforcement agencies hold the sellers accountable, then it will not be as simple as just shutting down the account!
