Blood loss! Amazon's "black hand"! Sellers' order volume dropped 6 times, FBA shipping costs soared...

As an FBA seller, delivery fees are an inevitable expense. Many sellers strive to improve the packaging when shipping and try to reduce the volume.

But sometimes Amazon’s survey makes sellers cry!

Amazon measured the wrong size! Sellers are upset: FBA fees soar

Recently, a seller complained in the community: Amazon made a mistake in measuring the size, which resulted in FBA fees. He opened a case to request re-measurement, but it was closed in seconds. He was almost devastated!

The seller said:

The dimensions of his product are 11.7x6.3x6.1 and weigh 2.3 pounds. The original data delivery fee was normal, but suddenly one day Amazon gave him a data of 11.8x9.6x6.2.

After applying for retest, the result was 11.8x11.6x6.2, so he sent the picture to customer service and applied for retest again, and the result became 11.8x9.6x6.2.

After that, he ignored me when I asked for measurement again. He closed the case in seconds after I opened it, and closed it in seconds after I opened it again. He just replied with one sentence that the warehouse measurement was the standard.

Now there is an additional delivery fee of US$0.76 per order, and the cost has increased dramatically!

Below is the measurement screenshot posted by the seller!

Coincidentally, some sellers also encountered similar situations!

Don't even think about it. I applied for it dozens of times but it didn't go down. One time they even raised the price for me. Now I don't dare to do it anymore! I also sent the data and weight, but it still didn't work. I'm so tired!

I have a product with three SKUs in different colors. The shipping price of two SKUs is $4.9 and one is $3.48. I requested re-measurement and the result is that both SKUs are $4.9.

Same problem! When I applied for retest, they just gave me the measured data.

Why are there discrepancies between official and seller measurements?

The seller is confused: I clearly measured it myself, why is there such a big difference with the official one? The reasons may be in the following aspects!

1. During transportation, the product will inevitably be bumped, which may cause the outer packaging box to be deformed and result in a change in volume.

2. Amazon requires secondary packaging of some products before measuring them. If the seller's product does not have a suitable packaging box in the Fba warehouse, they may choose a larger packaging box to pack and ship it.

3

How to solve the problem of false detection?

After doing FBA for a long time, various disputes are inevitable. So, how can we avoid the packaging size being mismeasured by FBA? Or if it is mismeasured, how should we deal with it? Here is Leetreasure's point of view!

First of all, try to choose better packaging boxes when shipping. The overall cycle of cross-border logistics is relatively long, and the boxes are squeezed and easily deformed. FBA warehouse measurements are laser scanned, so even a little protrusion will lead to wrong results.

If you find that the size is wrong, prepare the self-measured size diagram, mark the longest side size, second longest side size, shortest side size, and weight. If the review has a product packaging picture, it is best to attach it.

Then there are two ways to open a case. One is to call the logistics team (there is only Chinese customer service in the retest, and the English phone is also answered by Chinese customer service) and ask them to transfer it to the warehouse team for processing. The other is to make suggestions and open an English email case. The other is to send a complaint letter to my brother-in-law's email.

If you have re-measured twice in the past 60 days, Amazon customer service will automatically reply with the same re-measurement data. In this case, it is not recommended to open a case! You can only offset this part of the cost from the selling price!

Or you can ask customer service to change the warehouse to retest, as the products are separate.

In this whole process, sellers can only control the quality of the packaging boxes, and they need to take precautions. Otherwise, for small and medium-sized sellers, the invisible extra costs will be enough to make them suffer!

Sellers merged ASINs, and the number of orders plummeted by 6 times

In addition to the Fba measurement error being criticized by sellers, the Amazon system has also been criticized recently, and some sellers’ sales have dropped sharply as a result!

Recently, a seller asked for help in the community, saying: Sales have dropped a bit recently, and it’s a headache...

Here are the reasons:

Merged 6 Asins, color and size variations, same major category, same minor category. Selected is size, color.

After submitting the template, the front desk showed that they were tied together, but the review was not closed. The customer service said that the nodes were inconsistent (internal to Amazon). Later, I asked the customer service to change it to be consistent.

After that, the nodes are consistent and the review can be closed. However:

1. The categories and subcategories of 4 items have completely changed. They have changed from tools to personal care, and the products corresponding to the subcategories are also different!

2. One of the main products, B, has no large and small category node information on the front end. Now the order volume is only 1/6 of the previous one...

After opening several cases, the customer service said that the system review failed and the corresponding size category and other information could not be transferred back.

However, the size categories are obviously wrong now! The seller is speechless!

In addition, a large number of sellers found that their normally synchronized international reviews were all split. The reviews were still shared, but the star ratings were not added up. When they opened a case to ask customer service, the answer they got was: this was automatically captured by the system.

It is not clear whether Amazon's global review sharing rules have changed or whether Amazon is conducting a large-scale rectification. Sellers should be cautious in the near future to avoid being implicated!
