Walmart launches new seller support program, waiving 25% sales commission!

Walmart is actively recruiting third-party sellers, according to foreign media reports. This week, the company launched a program called "New-Seller Savings" to attract sellers to its platform.

Merchants who sign up through the New Seller Support Program will receive up to 25% commission rate discounts for 90 days. If merchants complete the new seller survey before joining, they will also receive a 10% commission rate discount. In addition, if sellers use Walmart Fulfillment Service (WFS), they can also receive another 5% commission rate discount.

Walmart will also offer another 5% commission rate discount to sellers who use its advertising service, and another 5% commission rate discount to sellers who use its repricer (non-connected Walmart Connect orders will not be eligible for the additional 5% commission rate discount, and the same applies to orders that are not enrolled in Repricer). New sellers who join will also receive $500 in search advertising credits.

Manish Joneja, senior vice president of Walmart's U.S. marketplace, said Walmart is one of the fastest growing marketplaces in the U.S., with 118 million visitors per month. In the third quarter earnings report for fiscal year 23 released in November last year, the inventory of Walmart's online marketplace increased by 50% to 370 million, and is increasing every day. In addition, in the third quarter, 8,000 new sellers joined the Walmart marketplace.

“Walmart’s goal is to be the preferred shopping destination for customers and the preferred easy-to-use, low-cost and profitable platform for sellers of all sizes. We are enhancing the seller experience through a faster onboarding process and updated tools and resources. Sellers who choose Walmart have access to our proprietary solutions and services, and we will help sellers succeed and grow their business. And that’s the competitive advantage of selling in partnership with the world’s leading retailer,” Manish Joneja further said.
