Keepa is charging a fee? Seller: What a rip-off!

Today, I learned that the free and easy-to-use Keepa will start charging fees. Many Amazon sellers complained in the group:

What is Keepa?

Some sellers may not know what Keepa is. Keepa is a free Amazon price tracking tool that can save the price history of all products on Amazon. Its main features include: comprehensive price history charts; price reduction and purchase reminders; receiving notifications via email, Facebook, Twitter, Android apps, and RSS; once the browser plug-in is installed, Keepa's price history chart will be displayed on each product page on Amazon; compare Amazon prices; wishlist import; overview of promotions and recent price cuts, etc. And it also supports price monitoring on the entire Amazon site.

So how do sellers install and use Keepa?

How to install Keepa

Keepa plug-in can be installed and used on Chrome and Firefox. And the download of this tool requires a VPN, and it can be used directly after installation.

The installation steps are as follows:

Log in to the official website: https://keepa.com . Select a suitable browser on the homepage and install it with one click (for example, select Firefox, click the icon, then click "Add to Firefox", and then click "OK".)

The plug-in is now installed, and you will see the small Keepa icon in the upper right corner of the browser.

Keepa charges

It is understood that at present, many data on Keepa have been locked, including sales rankings, ratings, number of reviews and other data, which require payment to obtain.

It is reported that in order to obtain all the data of Keepa, sellers need to pay 15 euros/month or 149 euros/year.

Contacted, a Keepa spokesperson said: "These valuable charts have been available free of charge for several years. However, acquiring, maintaining and processing this data is an ongoing and expensive undertaking. By offering a data subscription, we will ensure we are able to provide and improve our service for years to come."

The annual fee of more than 1,000 RMB may not be a big deal for some sellers, but it is not a small amount for some small sellers. Some sellers even joked that they would crowdfund the fee, while others waited for the experts to crack it. What about you? Have you paid the money? Or are you looking for alternative tools?

Keepa Alternatives

Camelcamelcamel is also a free Amazon price tracker that provides price drop alerts and price history charts for products sold by Amazon.

Users can take advantage of Amazon Price Drop Alerts: monitor Amazon prices and notify users via email and Twitter when prices drop; get Amazon historical price charts to view historical prices for more than 18 million Amazon products. It is also a Google Chrome and Firefox browser plug-in.

How to use?

First of all, knock on the blackboard, you need to know:

Only registered users can see the sales rank curve data of products. If you need price reduction reminders, you also need to provide an email address. The default email address for registered users is the registered account. Therefore, in order to conveniently see more complete data, you need to register an account first, all in one step.

How to register?

1. Log in to the official website:

https://camelcamelcamel.com/ . Click "sign up", fill in your email address and password, and create an account. Currently, email verification is not required. It is very simple and convenient.

2. Install the plugin:

Step 1: Click "Tools":

Step 2: Click on “Browser Add-ons”:

Step 3: Select a browser to install the plug-in. Select the corresponding browser here:

Step 4: Click "Add to XX (browser)", the installation is successful, and the following interface appears:

Step 5: Open Amazon.com, click to enter the product details page, and view the product details through the plug-in.

Camelcamelcamel's historical price chart is similar to Keepa. Green is the price changes of Amazon's own products, blue is the price changes of third-party sellers' products (brand new), and red is the price changes of third-party second-hand products.

Users can right-click to add or delete curves in the graph. There are five options for price change ranges: 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year and the entire sales period.

The most useful part of the chart is the current price, highest price, lowest price and average price of the product displayed at the bottom, as well as the time when these prices were generated. The table also lists the six most recent price adjustments of the product and the corresponding adjustment time. Through this icon, you can make a certain judgment on the price trend of the product and decide whether to increase or decrease the product price.

Thanks to the browser plug-in, sellers can view the product's historical price chart directly on the product page. If you want to track the price changes of a product, just click on the link in the historical price icon.
