In the past two years, the frequent chaos in cross-border logistics has become a sword of Damocles hanging over the heads of cross-border sellers. Recently, following the overseas Belgian customs logistics crisis, a large number of Chinese goods were seized for suspected tax evasion. As part of the domestic customs' crackdown on false declaration of dangerous goods, Shenzhen Customs also seized a large number of export goods suspected of false declaration of dangerous goods. Shenzhen Customs seized a large number of dangerous goods, all of which were suspected of being false Manchukuo declarations! It is learned that recently, Shenzhen Shekou Customs seized several batches of dangerous goods that were "not reported" in the export freight channels , including: 925 kg of dangerous chemical sodium sulfide belonging to Class 8 dangerous goods, and 6,189 kg of Class 9 dangerous goods (5,950 kg of lithium batteries and 239 kg of mobile power supplies). It is understood that the companies transporting these goods did not apply for inspection at the place of origin and were unable to provide the "Identification Result Sheet for the Use of Packaging for Transporting Dangerous Goods Abroad", and are suspected of falsely reporting dangerous goods. ▲ The picture comes from Weibo @Customs Release It is learned that in recent years, cases of major safety accidents caused by the concealment of dangerous goods have emerged one after another. In early March this year, a container fire occurred at the SCT Terminal in Shekou, Shenzhen . At that time, there was news that the fire was caused by the concealment of dangerous goods, but the incident was not taken seriously, so that some companies still "committed crimes against the wind" after that. In addition to Shenzhen Shekou Customs, other customs have also seized a large number of suspected illegal export dangerous goods in recent days: - Shenzhen Meisha Customs seized 5,500 dangerous goods mobile power banks through freight export channels, with a total value of approximately RMB 10,000.
- Shanghai Yangshan Customs seized a batch of 2,6-diaminotoluene, a dangerous chemical, in the cargo export channel and has transferred it to subsequent disposal in accordance with the law.
Due to the frequent incidents of concealing dangerous goods, on March 28, Shenzhen Shekou Customs issued a notice "Requesting assistance in providing relevant information" , in which five freight forwarders were "named". Customs uncovered multiple cases of false Manchukuo declarations, and 5 freight forwarders were named! It is learned that the notification letter issued by Shenzhen Shekou Customs mentioned that Shekou Customs recently discovered a number of false Manchukuo declaration cases, some of which included hazardous chemicals and involved many freight forwarding companies. In order to maintain a safe and good customs clearance environment, Shekou Customs intends to verify in batches. The following five freight forwarding companies are required to submit booking export information on the specified date: Shenzhen Yue*tong International Freight Forwarding Co., Ltd., Shenzhen *Run Logistics Co., Ltd., Shenzhen **Asia International Freight Forwarding Co., Ltd., Guangzhou **He Logistics Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Fu** International Freight Forwarding Co., Ltd. It is worth noting that the notice letter requires these freight forwarding companies to provide booking export information for a period of more than a month from March 14 to April 30. Shekou Customs also stated that it is preparing to check the booking information of freight forwarding companies in batches. This verification is only for the "first batch" rather than the "only one", and relevant investigations may continue in the future. Industry insiders have analyzed that if a container is found to be involved in false declaration during a customs investigation, it will face the risk of being temporarily detained , which is undoubtedly very unfavorable for other goods that are declared in compliance with regulations but are in the same batch of containers. In other words, the ones who suffer the most in the end are often the innocent cross-border sellers who are affected. At present, the General Administration of Customs is organizing a special campaign to combat false reporting of dangerous goods in imports and exports. By building a scientific, safe and efficient dangerous goods supervision mechanism at ports, it is launching a full-chain crackdown on false reporting of dangerous goods. In fact, it is common for customs to seize goods, but it is not common for customs to directly name freight forwarding companies. This is enough to show the customs' determination to crack down on suspected illegal activities such as false declaration of dangerous goods. Here, we would like to remind sellers of related products that among thousands of paths, compliance is the first. Please pay attention to logistics information in a timely manner, abide by the export requirements for dangerous goods, and try to choose freight forwarders with compliant declarations to avoid being affected by this crackdown. At the same time, we also hope that relevant logistics companies will be truthful when declaring dangerous goods and special goods, and never take chances, as the final result will outweigh the gains.
