A new round of rectification! A large number of accounts with no money may be strictly investigated

It is learned that on June 25, Amazon officially announced that Prime Day 2024 will be held globally from July 16 to 17. Many sellers are gearing up and have high expectations for this upcoming "midterm exam".

However, as peak season products flood into the United States, logistics issues have once again become a major hurdle on the eve of Prime Day.

It is understood that according to industry sources, in recent times, many of Amazon's warehouses in the United States have experienced varying degrees of overcrowding , resulting in a chain reaction of long queues of trucks, batch cancellations, and warehousing delays.

The picture comes from the freight forwarder’s revelation

According to freight forwarding information , warehouses such as LGB8, GYR2, GYR3, VGT2, SMF3, LAS1, LGB6 in the West Coast of the United States , FTW1, IND9, MDW2, FWA4 in the US-China region , and CLT2, RFD2, RUD2, and RMN3 in the East Coast of the United States are all affected by warehouse explosions and are unable to operate normally. There are serious cases of postponed contracts, increased rejection rates, and delayed delivery.

Among them, the popular warehouse LAS1 in the western United States has recently cancelled all appointments, and the re-booking time has been postponed to mid-July . Amazon stated in the notice that the reason for the postponement of the warehouse appointment was "unforeseen operational restrictions", while many logistics professionals speculated that it might be related to the recent warehouse explosion and the surge in freight rates.

In fact, since May this year, affected by factors such as bad weather, labor shortage, and a surge in freight volume on the eve of the peak season , many popular Amazon warehouses have experienced serious overcrowding, temporary closures, and frequent rejections, resulting in delays in the entry of goods into warehouses for a large number of sellers.

Now that Prime Day is getting closer, the overcrowding problem in Amazon's US warehouses has not only not been alleviated, but has even shown a trend of "expanding outward", causing many cross-border sellers to worry that it will affect the sales of products during the promotion.

We have learned that since June, many sellers have reported that a large number of Amazon shipments have not been put on the shelves for a long time:

"SMF3, we haven't started receiving it yet, one week after signing for it."

“I signed for the goods at IND9 warehouse on May 29, but it has not been registered yet.”

“It takes more than half a month to put it on the shelves recently.”

It is currently unknown when Amazon warehouse delivery will resume normal operations. Sellers are reminded to carefully plan their shipments and try to avoid missing out on the important Prime Day promotion due to logistics delays.

Undoubtedly, for most cross-border sellers, logistics is still one of the biggest problems in preparation for this year's big promotion. In addition to the delivery efficiency that is like a thorn in the side, a notice issued by the United States Postal Service (USPS) has also become the focus of attention in the industry.

As we all know, some unscrupulous freight forwarders have always taken advantage of loopholes in international express companies to create false waybills, change shipping addresses, etc. in order to attract customers by offering low prices. The industry calls accounts that adopt such gray methods "water leakage accounts."

It is understood that these leaked accounts have caused huge economic losses to international express companies such as UPS and USPS. Therefore, since May last year, these international express companies have carried out multiple investigations against such gray methods.

Recently, USPS issued a notice on its official website stating that in order to solve the problem of unpaid and forged postage and maintain the normal order of postal services, USPS will verify payment documents in real time starting August 1, 2024. Packages that are not included in the list when first scanned at the USPS facility will be intercepted and processed , will not re-enter the mail flow, and the sender will not receive compensation.

In other words, starting from August 1, 2024, USPS will launch a new round of inspections on accounts that have been used for fraudulent transactions . Sellers who are found to have used accounts that have been used for fraudulent transactions will not only face the risk of having their goods seized or even destroyed , but may also need to deal with a series of chain reactions caused by inspections such as product out-of-stocks and logistics delays .

It is understood that in May last year, when UPS, Fedex and others launched a clearance operation, a large number of accounts with money leaked out, which directly led to the seizure of multiple cabinets of many sellers. They had to pay fines before the goods could be released, resulting in heavy losses.

At the same time, the chain reaction caused by the inspection also further affected cross-border logistics. At that time, many goods were delivered by trucks to avoid the pitfalls of water leakage. However, due to the slow efficiency of truck delivery and the overflow of popular warehouses, the logistics timeliness was seriously affected.

After Prime Day in July, there are still many opportunities for many cross-border sellers to make big sales in the holiday promotions such as Black Friday, Halloween, and Christmas in the second half of the year. According to survey data from , the sellers surveyed are generally optimistic about the platform promotions in the second half of this year. More than 70% of sellers have decided to participate in the platform promotions in the second half of the year, and nearly 50% of sellers said they would participate in all promotions. Only 16% of sellers are skeptical about the traffic effect brought by promotional activities.

For this reason, we would like to remind all sellers that in order to avoid being affected by the new round of account clearance operations, they need to be more cautious when choosing logistics service providers and put compliance first.
