The network album space provided is unlimited, and supports jpg, jpeg, png, psd, gif, bmp, tif, tiff picture formats. In addition to uploading pictures, it also supports streaming media services. Users can upload pictures using Java, ActiveX controls, software clients, web pages, URLs, FTP, mobile phones, E-mails, and other methods.

The pictures support external links. You can right-click on the picture, view the properties, and find the external link address.

Free Account

Free account members have 3000MB storage space limit and 50MB email space limit, and can apply for an additional 200MB storage space every 30 days.

Starting October 1, 2015, free members must upgrade to paid service, and if they do not upgrade by October 1, 2015, all free accounts will be deleted.

Fotki is available in English, French, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Chinese, German, Italian, Estonian, Lithuanian, Latvian, Dutch, Polish, Malay, Hebrew, Spanish and Japanese.

In June 2007, Fotki.com was recognized by CNET as one of the best Web 2.0 applications.

As of January 2011, Fotki claimed to have 1.6 million registered members from 241 countries and one billion digital images.

Fotki sent a message to all its users in June 2012 informing them of its financial situation and the resulting need for additional support for the storage of original full-size images. Access to the original images was suspended pending further arrangements.

In August 2015, Fotki stated that they would no longer support free memberships as they were removing advertising.
