Magento Commerce was released on April 11, 2016. The latest supported versions of Magento Commerce, released on May 31, 2017, are EE 1.14.2.4 and EE 2.2.0.

history

The company was owned by eBay between 2011 and 2015, when it became an independent company and part of the X.Commerce business unit.

On November 2, 2015, private equity firm Permira announced the acquisition of Magento Inc.

In May 2018, Adobe announced that it would acquire Magento Commerce for $1.68 billion, a deal that will help strengthen its experience cloud business, which provides services such as analytics, advertising and marketing. The transaction is expected to be completed in Adobe's third fiscal quarter of June to August 2018.
