Mexico's e-commerce revenue will reach $45.27 billion in 25 years, with food e-commerce revenue being the highest

According to data from Statista, Mexico's e-commerce revenue will reach $45.27 billion (about 925 billion pesos) by 2025, with an average annual growth rate of 9.45%. By 2029, the number of online shoppers will increase to 118 million, with a user penetration rate of 90.2%. In addition, Quick Commerce is also showing strong growth, with revenue expected to reach $1.39 billion (about 28 billion pesos) in 2025, with an average annual growth rate of 12.3%.

It is predicted that the revenue of food e-commerce will reach 9.85 billion US dollars in 2025, while that of fashion and consumer electronics will reach 6.12 billion US dollars and 5.87 billion US dollars respectively. In particular, the consumer electronics sector is expected to grow by 58.59% between 2024 and 2029, and the market size is expected to reach 8.09 billion US dollars in 2029, with the number of users increasing to 106 million.

In the health and beauty sector, sales will grow by 55% in 2024 and are expected to reach $2.96 billion (60 billion pesos) in 2025, mainly driven by online demand for nail products. Consumers not only buy nail polish and manicure tools online, but also obtain unique design inspiration and online courses through e-commerce platforms, forming a new personalized consumption trend. Jalisco, Mexico City and Sinaloa have become the most active regions for sales of such products. Social media plays a key role in this trend, with Instagram contributing 55% of sales, Facebook and TikTok accounting for 30% and 15% respectively.

It is worth noting that the popularity of mobile payments has further catalyzed the development of e-commerce. 72% of transactions are completed through mobile phones, while computers account for 27%. Free delivery has become a key factor in deciding purchases, accounting for 37% of total orders. Holiday promotions such as Halloween, summer promotions and Happy Festivals also drive sales peaks during specific time periods.
