What is CPC certification?

CPC certification, full name Children's Product Certification.

It is an accredited laboratory. After completing the inspection and testing according to the different applicable standards of the products, the inspection agency will issue a report.

Applicable to all products for children under 12 years old.

If you fill in the applicable age as under 12 years old in the product description or item editing, you will basically encounter CPC review sooner or later.

Which products require CPC certification?

In principle, this is required for all products for children under 12 years old.

Consequences of Not Doing CPC Certification

*The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Council (CPSC) has been upgraded to a participating government agency, especially to assist and strengthen U.S. Customs cargo inspections.

If the U.S. Customs spot checks the target products, they will initiate customs detention and will not release them until CPC certification is submitted.

If Amazon detects it, the listing will be removed from the shelves and will not be put back on the shelves until the submitted CPC passes the review.

Standard format for CPC certification

CPC certification does not have an actual certificate. Instead, the testing agency provides a template, and the applicant fills in the information and issues a self-declared document on their own.

Although the format is not limited, it must contain several pieces of information, mainly:

• U.S. Importer Information

• Date of manufacture and address of manufacturer

• Test standards (US regulations, and standards)

How to contact a formal testing agency

Amazon and customs only accept reports from approved laboratories.

The CPSC official website publishes a list of approved laboratories.

To determine whether the service provider is a formal accredited laboratory, you can directly search the laboratory name, or search the number provided by the laboratory. Our company number is 1606

Alternatively, first filter the list of all laboratories located in China.

In the subsequent CPC report, the laboratory address and name must correspond to the official website query results.

Why CPC certification audit failed

CPC certification submission review failed, usually because the information is incomplete or does not match

Mainly include:

• SKU information does not match

• Mismatch between certification standards and products

• Missing U.S. importer information

• Laboratory information does not match or is not recognized

• Product edit page, without filling in the CPSIA warning field (if the product contains parts)

• The product lacks safety information or compliance mark (traceability code)
