The English version was launched in July 2018, and the Indonesian version was launched in September.

Development direction

In terms of content operation, MangaToon has cooperated with nearly 100 CPs in China and has stockpiled the copyrights of nearly 1,000 works. It will also use its own work rating system to conduct refined operations on the content and provide more high-quality works for overseas users.

In terms of team building, as the business expands to more countries and continues to deepen, we have decided to build localized teams in Vietnam, Indonesia, the United States and other places based on local market characteristics and user features, optimize the organizational structure, and provide users with more complete and considerate services.

In terms of users, MangaToon is more optimistic about the "people behind content consumption" and is determined to expand the user base and innovate content monetization as its core goals. By referring to data such as the work decay index, it formulates new product cycles, payment nodes, and on-site promotion.

Financing

In October 2018, MangaToon completed its angel round of financing. The amount was not disclosed, and the investor was Zhulang Novel Network.

In November 2018, the Pre-A round of financing was led by Yuanjing Capital, followed by Zero One Capital and LianShang Literature.

In February 2019, the A round of financing was led by Yilian Capital and followed by Yuanjing Capital, and Yiqiu Capital continued to serve as the exclusive financial advisor. In addition, the project also received angel round financing led by Zero One Capital and followed by Lian Shang Literature, with a total financing amount of more than 10 million US dollars.

In July 2019, it completed a Series B financing of tens of millions of dollars.
