What is Google Alerts? Google Alerts Review

Google Alerts is a free service provided by the search engine giant Google that allows you to track any topic or URL on the web. Google Alerts are email notifications sent to you based on your query, designed to keep you up to date with relevant Google search results (web pages, news, etc.).

About Google Alerts

Google Alerts can help you stay up to date with the latest news in your niche. You can use it to follow the latest news on the Internet for any specific keyword and create email alerts. For example, if you are an imported shoe merchant, you can set the keyword "leather boot" or "best shoes for men", and Google Alerts will send you all the news that may be related to it every day. You can choose to receive a single email with a summary of related news, or choose to send a separate email for each news. You can even set the time to receive news.

Google Alerts selects one or more competitors and keeps you informed of their new moves. Send results via email and get notified when the brand you are tracking is mentioned in an article or blog post online. You can also monitor keywords to get timely insights in your industry.

Common functions: monitor the progress of news reports, track the latest information of competitors or the industry, learn about the latest developments of celebrities or events, and grasp the latest status of favorite sports teams, etc.

Advantages

1. Build links

The easiest way is to find websites similar to yours through the most powerful search engine in the world, and then it will notify you of relevant links by email. For example, I have a blog about SEO, which is my niche, so to know more about related topics, I use "Google Alerts" to notify similar blogs. If it is a good blog, I can leave a backlink to the website by posting an article or commenting on it. If the content is relevant, they will welcome you to do so, and the website can get a free backlink for this.

2. Research your competitors

Set up a Google Alert in your niche and you’ll receive relevant information. This is a good indicator of competition in your specific industry.

3. Create Tabs

If my website is mentioned somewhere on the Internet, I want to be the first to know. Every time my website is mentioned, it means one more backlink, which is invaluable for SEO.

How to use

1. To use Google Alerts, first of all, you need to be able to access Google and Gmail without any obstacles (the latest updates will be sent to your Gmail mailbox). Secondly, when you can access Gmail normally, enter the Google Alerts website, and you will see the following interface:

2. Click "Alerts" at the top and enter the keywords you want to follow, such as "cloud computing". Google Alerts will show you the content that can be searched currently, so that you can confirm whether the content you want to see matches the corresponding keywords.

3. After confirmation, you can click "Create Alert" to add a keyword to your attention. Of course, such settings will be very simple, and many functions may not meet our requirements, but don't worry, you can click the display option next to the "Create Alert" button to view the options for the keyword.

Google Alerts options:

Frequency: According to your needs, you can set the frequency to once a week, once a day, or when there is a new dynamic reminder. You can set it according to the situation.

Source: In the source, you can set the channels from which the dynamics you follow come from, for example, the default is to use automatic.

Language: The default setting is Simplified Chinese. If you want to view all content, it would be better to set it to no language limit.

Country/Region: The logic here is the same as that of language. If you want to see more content, it is most convenient to set it to unlimited.

·Quantity: Here you can set whether to send all the content or the best content to you. If you are working, you can choose to send only the best content. If you are following idols, you can just send all the content directly.

4. After the settings are completed, click Create Newsletter to create a follow. Later, you just need to wait for the email quietly.

How to help expand your business

1. Monitor brands

When your brand name, or your name, website name, or product name, is mentioned on the Internet, you will receive subscription notifications to understand the development of your brand on the Internet. You can also see how people evaluate your brand and get in touch with potential customers who share the same ideas as you.

2. Monitor your competitors

You can also use this tool to see what your competitors are doing, just like monitoring your own brand, but just replace the name. Similarly, you will be guided by positive and negative reviews, news reports, latest developments, etc. about your competitors. Mastering this information will enable you to know what to do next.

3. Measure the quality of your website content

The number of Google Alerts can be selected as "Best Search Results" or "All Results". You can think of it as a filter for content quality, and then measure which websites have better content quality in the eyes of Google.

4. Monitor website security

When your brand develops to a certain level, it is very common for your website to be attacked. Although this situation is difficult to avoid completely, you can use tools to increase security reminders.

evaluate

The biggest function of Google Alerts is to allow users to quickly and conveniently obtain the information they are concerned about. Google Alerts can actively push valuable information to users, greatly reducing the time it takes for users to obtain information. This makes it possible to "know what is happening in the world without going online."
