What is DSR? DSR Review
In addition to leaving credit ratings (positive, neutral or negative) for sellers with whom they have traded, buyers can also anonymously leave detailed seller service ratings for sellers, namely Detailed Seller Ratings, or DSR for short. Buyers and sellers can only see the average of detailed seller ratings, so sellers cannot tell which buyer left a specific rating. What's included

eBay has used the DSR rating system since 2007. When buyers leave credit feedback for sellers, they can leave detailed seller service quality ratings based on the following four aspects of the seller's services:
1. Accuracy of item description (Item as described)
2. Communication quality and response speed
3. Shipping time
4. Reasonableness of shipping and handling charges

Detailed description

Seller Service Rating is composed of four ratings, which allows sellers to understand their service performance more intuitively. It also allows eBay buyers to select sellers with better service quality based on the DSR score and get a better shopping experience. Seller Service Rating is an optional item, and not all buyers who have traded with you are required to leave a Seller Service Rating.
The seller service rating system is based on a five-star system, with five stars being the highest rating and one star being the lowest rating. The score is therefore also between 1-5, with 5 being the highest and 1 being the lowest. The seller service rating score will not affect the seller's overall credit rating.

The scores of the Seller Service Rating are the average of all the scores you received for that DSR, and are displayed in your credit evaluation file in the form of five-pointed stars (as shown below). The more stars and the more complete the score, the more satisfied the buyer is with your service.

It should be noted that the DSR score represents four independent scores, not the weighted average of the four scores. In order to provide buyers with a better shopping experience, eBay will give priority to recommending items from sellers with high DSR scores to buyers.

Function

The impact of DSR on sellers
In addition to providing buyers with a reference for purchases, DSR ratings are even more important for sellers. eBay will reward sellers who provide quality services and have higher DSR scores, giving them higher product exposure, and will impose corresponding penalties on sellers with low DSR scores.

Therefore, during your transaction, you must work hard to improve your DSR rating, thereby increasing product exposure and bringing you more business opportunities. When your DSR score meets certain standards, you will have a better chance of becoming an eBay seller with excellent ratings and enjoy more fee discounts and transaction opportunities.

Tips to Improve Your Seller Service Rating

1. Accurately describe your item, including whether it is new or used, and fulfill your terms of sale;
2. Don’t describe “repaired” or “refurbished” items as “new.” When buyers see the word “new,” they expect a brand new item, not something that “looks” brand new.
3. In the item description, clearly state the delivery time. If you do not ship on weekends, please indicate this in the item description;
4. Communicate promptly and clearly, reply to buyers' emails efficiently, and proactively inform them of the latest status of their items when necessary;
5. When problems occur, do not pass the buck. Work with the buyer in a professional manner and resolve the issue immediately.

Background

eBay launched the so-called buyer protection policy (eBay Buyer Protection) and detailed DSR rating. According to eBay, both sellers and buyers can protect their interests. But in fact, this policy has great benefits for buyers and condones trading fraud to some extent.
Sellers can always find a reason - as long as the buyer understands eBay's loopholes and complains to eBay, eBay will 100% support the buyer in most cases. According to my experience in eBay, in this situation, the seller will definitely lose. The seller can only follow the buyer's wishes - refund or restock, or the buyer will give a negative review and a low DSR. If an account encounters such a customer, it will only wait for the account to be frozen and cannot sell anything.
The detailed DSR has prompted many sellers to sell more cheap and poor quality goods at low prices (no profit or loss) to get more positive reviews and DSR ratings, and use Ebay DSR rating rules to offset the proportion of bad ratings. This really discourages other sellers and also makes buyers dissatisfied. I have found that there are fewer and fewer buyers on eBay. I checked several accounts I served before and found that many buyers have cancelled their eBay accounts.
