Development History


-In October 2011, Temple & Webster online platform was launched and has become the largest online retailer in the furniture and home furnishings category.


-In June 2012, Macquarie Capital became a significant investor and shareholder in Temple & Webster to accelerate growth.


-In July 2015, Temple & Webster Group acquired the Australian operations and subsidiaries of Wayfair Inc. (NYSE: W), one of the world's leading online furniture and home goods retailers.


-In October 2015, Temple & Webster Group entered into an agreement to acquire Milan Direct following the completion of its tender offer.


- In October 2015, Temple & Webster relaunched Wayfair Australia as ZIZO.com.au.


- In December 2015, Temple & Webster Group listed on the Australian Stock Exchange as TPW (The Offer).


- In April 2016, the decision was made to exit ZIZO and merge all businesses under the Temple & Webster brand using the ZIZO/Wayfair advanced technology platform and an innovative dropshipping model. This transformed Temple & Webster from a closed, members-only website into Australia’s largest online retailer of furniture and homewares with an open-access website carrying over 130,000 products.


- In October 2016, it was announced that Temple & Webster co-founder Mark Coulter would take on the role of CEO after serving as interim CEO (following the resignation of CEO and co-founder Brian Shanahan in April 2016).


-In December 2016, the Milan Direct online furniture store was integrated into the Temple & Webster platform as part of the company's revised business plan and vision. Milan Direct is now TPW's own-label furniture brand, continuing the product supply and inventory business led by founder Dean Ramler. The move solidifies Temple & Webster's position as a leading brand in the online furniture and homewares category.
