Amazon bans accounts on a large scale! A large number of sellers suffer!

Since 2024, Amazon's account sweeping campaign has not stopped, but has become more severe, and continues to crack down on violations. This makes many sellers feel uneasy, worrying whether their store will become the next target of sweeping.

Amazon US site mass scanning

On March 20, Amazon once again carried out a large-scale number-sweeping operation.

According to Xiao Ant, this large-scale account suspension is due to violation of the most difficult to appeal "Amazon Business Solutions Agreement Article 3:

Amazon said the seller’s account was suspended for allegedly “taking unfair or abusing Amazon’s features and services.” The email made it clear that these accounts violated the “Seller Code of Conduct,” but did not elaborate on the specific violations. This measure was taken because the account abused Amazon’s features and services.

The email did not specify the reason, but only stated that the account was involved in abusive activities, which violated Article 3 of the Amazon Agreement and unfairly or abused Amazon's features or services, and these activities violated Amazon's policies.

Regarding the abuse of Amazon services mentioned in the email, based on the feedback from sellers in various channels, the following abuses are summarized, including but not limited to the following:

1. A store that has not been operating for a long time is being swept away when it wants to reopen.

2. The newly registered store is scanned directly

3. Being eliminated due to legacy/existing performance infringement and other issues

4. Find service providers to follow and sell products and other gray operations

5. Abuse of brand registration function

6. The account has violated the variant rules (binding zombie variants, following zombie accounts, abusing variants)

7. There are problems such as counterfeiting and infringement (trademark, copyright, patent, etc.).

8. Manipulating rankings, such as brushing orders, brushing keyword rankings, etc.

Misjudgment? Or concentrated number scanning?

The number of sellers who scanned the accounts this time is huge, including not only newly registered accounts, but also some old accounts that have been operating for a long time and have a good reputation .

Xiao Ant has also sorted out some feedback from sellers. Currently, most of the sellers who have received notifications are pure white hat operations, have no problems with the brand (excluding brand abuse), have not done any fake order evaluations, have not done any recent operations to circumvent the inventory configuration service fee, have not engaged in follow-selling, have no IP associations, and other issues.

This sudden blow caught many sellers off guard, especially those who claimed that they had never conducted any illegal operations. They expressed great confusion.

Amazon Business Resolution Agreement 3 can be regarded as one of the "nightmares" of sellers. There is basically no solution to the appeal box. During this sweep operation, some sellers summarized the three types of account blocking emails.

  • Type 1: Emails showing: -- Taking unfair actions or abusing Amazon features or services

  • Type 2: Emails showing: - Providing inaccurate information to Amazon or our customers

  • Type 3: Emails display: - Attempts to influence customer ratings, feedback, and reviews

Currently, many sellers are eager to file complaints or seek help from service providers, but a large number of accounts are still in the blacklist. Amazon's sweeping operation is still ongoing, and some people are still being affected today.

In order to understand the reasons for the account being blocked, some sellers asked service providers to make physical examination reports.

Sellers who have received medical examination reports said that the reason was related to the previous dead account, and the platform determined it to be fraud. One seller said that he did not do anything illegal, but the email said it was fraud and violated the third-party agreement, and supply chain verification was required, but this verification is hell-level difficult.

Another seller said that the specific cause of death of his account was : abuse of variants and multiple illegal merging of variants. However, the cause and effect of the judgment was somewhat horrifying.

An internal source revealed that Amazon’s new scanning email is designed to require sellers to check themselves for violations.

According to him, Amazon launched a new SPI inspection system this year. This system will accumulate all violation records of each store since its establishment. When the violation records of sellers in various aspects accumulate to a certain extent, they will be judged as bad sellers and will be directly banned by an email.

It is speculated that sellers who have been involved in illegal operations will most likely be pulled out by the platform for reckoning later. Even if the violation happened a long time ago, it may be linked to future accounts.

Vacuum cleaners are completely destroyed

On the afternoon of March 21 , multiple brands in the "Stick V acuums & Electric Brooms" category on Amazon's US site could not be displayed.

A seller revealed that there are more than ten brands affected, including HO*****, DE****, Be****, BUPO*****, TA*****, WL*****, HA*****, PO*****, VO*****, JA*****, and Lu*****.

In addition, some sellers said that the accounts that were scanned did not receive any performance notifications in the backend . When the brand went bankrupt, Amazon also seized the funds.

According to the seller who broke the news, in this wave of sweeping the vacuum cleaner and floor scrubber categories, most of the links that turned into dogs were Chinese brands, while there were almost no problems with American brands . Therefore, it is speculated that Amazon conducted a category review of Chinese brands.

However, some sellers also said that some sellers in this category have average product quality and often engage in illegal operations such as merging variants, merging international reviews, manipulating reviews, and placing fake orders outside the site. This time, the account was also blocked because of illegal operations . However, Amazon has not yet responded to this, and the specific reason for the category being swept is not yet known, so the above speculation can only be used as a reference.

From scanning numbers to banning brands, this round of actions by Amazon has once again made sellers nervous. Recently, there have been waves of account sweeps, and no matter whether the account is new or old, they have been attacked. It is not difficult to see that Amazon is never ambiguous in cracking down on illegal operations, and the mechanism of settling accounts after the event has also increased the cost of making mistakes . Sellers, I am afraid you have to be more cautious in the future.

For many sellers who are not clear about the store situation, physical inspection can accurately identify the potential risk factors of the store, clarify the direction of appeal through physical inspection, and effectively resolve the crisis. If necessary, you can add Xiao Ant to learn more~
