The latest policies include: a reduction in FBA fees for oversized items at some sites; and the launch of the "Amazon Logistics Refund No Return Solution" that FB A sellers can choose from . These policy updates can provide sellers with more flexible and simple return processing options to achieve more efficient inventory management, thereby better seizing opportunities during the peak sales season and achieving business development.

Amazon's small and oversized FBA fees are reduced


Recently, Amazon Europe announced that in order to improve FBA logistics services, the platform will reduce domestic and pan-EU FBA delivery rates in the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain .


Among them, for small and oversized items, the rate can be reduced by up to 1.6 pounds or 1.87 euros. By reducing fees, Amazon aims to help sellers provide customers with a wider selection of small and oversized items.

For small or oversized items, there are of course restrictions.


Amazon defines small oversized items as: size ≤ 61 x 46 x 46 cm, single piece weight < 1.76 kg, volumetric weight < 25.82 kg . Specific exemptions are as follows:


- FBA logistics fees for all four small-oversized size segments (dimensions ≤ 61 x 46 x 46 cm, weight ≤ 1.76 kg) in the UK, France, Italy and Spain will be reduced by 12-30%.


- FBA logistics fees for the two small and large size segments (size ≤ 61 x 46 x 46 cm, weight ≤ 1.26 kg) at the German site will be reduced by 22-28%.



Additionally, all other domestic FBA delivery rates for the UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain will remain unchanged.

It is worth mentioning that just last month, Amazon also reduced the large-item surcharge for the European Integrated Logistics Service Plan announced in December last year. In the announcement, it wrote, "Starting from September 1, 2024, we will reduce the pan-EU FBA oversized surcharge rate by 30-50% for products sold in France, Italy and Spain", which to some extent also alleviated the cost pressure on sellers.

To be fair, it is very necessary for Amazon to reduce the FBA logistics fees for some regions and some products. This news is quite good for related sellers. You should know that small and large items such as sofas, beds, kitchenware, wardrobes, etc. are usually larger in size or heavier in weight, and the logistics costs are often higher when transported internationally. By reducing the FBA logistics fees this time, sellers will have more transportation options.

Amazon’s refund without return policy has been updated and upgraded again!


Recently, Amazon announced a major upgrade to its product return processing program and officially launched a new policy of " cancellable return evaluation " to further optimize buyers' shopping experience and sellers' operational efficiency.



It is reported that the core of this upgrade is that Amazon allows eligible sellers to cancel the return evaluation process under certain circumstances.


To prevent the "refund without return" option from being used maliciously, this option is only available to customers who have no record of abusing returns , and restrictions are set for applicable products. Specifically, when a buyer submits a return request, if the seller has set the option to cancel the return evaluation , the seller can choose to directly provide the buyer with a full refund without the buyer actually returning the product.


However, the following types of products cannot use this solution:


(1) Dangerous goods; (2) Recalled goods; (3) Gift cards; (4) Heavy and bulky goods; (5) Goods with an average selling price of more than US$75


This move will greatly simplify the return process, save sellers the cost of return processing and product removal, while shortening the time it takes for buyers to receive refunds and improving shopping satisfaction.


In the traditional return process, buyers need to return the goods to the Amazon operation center, and the seller will refund after evaluation and confirmation. During this process, sellers need to bear the costs of return logistics, product inspection, repackaging, etc. , and face the risk that the returned goods cannot be sold again.


Under the new policy, eligible sellers can directly process refunds for buyers, avoiding the above-mentioned risks and costs and giving sellers more advantages in cost control.


But don’t rush to turn it on. You need to first evaluate whether your products and customer groups are suitable for this policy. Only qualified customers will trigger this function, and there won’t be too many risks.
