I have been working at Amazon for more than three years. Compared with many newbies, I have stepped on many pitfalls and learned a lot of inside information. Here I will share with you how to avoid pitfalls when interviewing for Amazon operations, to help you avoid detours and find the right company. After all, if you leave your job frequently, it will not look good on your resume and will also affect your chances of finding a good job later.
1. Search the other company’s name on Tianyancha or Qichacha to ensure it is a formal company. 2. Enter the other company's address in Baidu Maps and use panoramic mode to view the surrounding environment. Don't consider companies located in residential buildings or remote locations, as these are usually start-up companies with little financial strength. 3. Take the lowest salary range on the recruitment resume, which is the actual psychological expectation of the HR. For example, if it is 6-8k, then it is 6k. 4. If the recruitment information states that you can get shares, it is most likely a startup company with less than 5 people. A company with a little bit of strength will not need to paint such a big pie to attract you. 5. There is a summary table of Amazon’s pitfalls to avoid on the Internet for reference, to make sure you can accept the company’s shortcomings or defects.
1. Understand the other company's commission method: Currently, Amazon e-commerce companies have 4 commission methods: commission based on gross profit, commission based on net profit, performance + commission; pure performance; the calculation based on net profit is the worst, and the profit earned needs to deduct your own salary and the costs of the shared company's water and electricity company's rent; the second is pure performance, which completely evaluates your score and calculates bonuses based on KPI, with a low upper limit. Even if you have a lot of orders, you will still get the same income. 2. Determine the other party's operational support: whether it supports fake orders, how strong the fake orders are, whether it usually does off-site promotion, how many points of controllable operational costs are, etc. The company's support determines the room for operation. 3. Understand the company's organizational structure: There are two common organizational structures: (1) Operations is fully responsible for all Amazon promotion matters (operations, advertising, off-site promotion, evaluation, etc.) (2) All Amazon matters are divided into operations group, advertising group, promotion group, and evaluation group. If you are familiar with all Amazon operations, choose the first one. If you want to dig deeper in a single field, choose the second organizational structure. 4. Understand product category rankings: Ask about product categories and category rankings, and then use JS and other plug-ins to check to know the company's sales level. If the ranking is low, it can be indirectly judged that the company's products either have low profits or weak operational support. Of course, there is also the possibility that the level of the operations specialist is low, but if there are dozens of operations specialists, the possibility of problems with the operations specialists themselves is much smaller. 5. Understand the price of the product: If the company's products are low-priced (less than $20), try not to choose them, especially phone cases, data cables, tempered glass films, and phone holders. These products have been over-produced, competition is extremely fierce, and they are not easy to send for testing, making them extremely difficult to operate! 6. Are there any commissions and five social insurances during the probation period? Most companies do not pay commissions during the probation period, but there are very few companies that do not pay five social insurances. It is illegal not to pay social insurance during the probation period. There is also the time of commission payment. Most companies pay commissions every other month, and very few companies pay once a quarter or even once a year. If you can accept this, just ignore what I said.
