The battle for workers intensifies! Walmart plans to hire 150,000 employees in the United States!

According to Reuters, Walmart recently said that in order to prepare for the upcoming shopping season, it plans to recruit about 150,000 new employees in the United States, most of which will be long-term, full-time positions.

Walmart said it would increase employees' working hours amid a labor shortage in the United States, but would provide corresponding pay raises or other incentives to ensure it has enough workers to cope with a surge in merchandise sales during the peak shopping season, which starts the day after Thanksgiving and ends in early January.

It is reported that the epidemic has led more and more consumers to prefer curbside pickup and home delivery services. Therefore, Walmart announced that it will recruit 20,000 new permanent workers in its supply chain facilities to speed up delivery and provide high-quality delivery services.

It is learned that the battle for workers among major retail giants has intensified recently. Amazon previously said it would recruit another 55,000 employees worldwide; Tajer said it would adjust its staffing approach to alleviate the shortage of staff. In addition, in order to solve supply chain problems, Costco and Walmart also rented more freight ships.
