Amazon Air expands daily cargo service to Wichita, USA!

It is learned that Amazon Air recently launched its first daily cargo service at Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport in Kansas, USA. This is also Amazon Air’s first cargo flight in Kansas. This move will support Amazon to provide more efficient package delivery capabilities to customers throughout the region and country.

Amazon Air flights will be operated using ATR72-500 aircraft, with daily flights between Wichita and Fort Worth Alliance Airport (AFW).

Amazon Air is reportedly joining two existing fulfillment centers in the Wichita area, located in Park City (1 million square feet) and Northeast Wichita (140,000 square feet). The company also has fulfillment centers in Edgerton, Gardner, New Century, Shawnee and the Greater Kansas City area.

Wichita Airport Authority Airport Director Jesse Romo said the location is ideal, with connections to Highways 54/400 and Interstate 235, making it easier to provide delivery services to Amazon customers in Kansas and surrounding areas.

Chris Preston, director of operations at Amazon Air, said that over the past decade, Amazon has created more than 8,000 jobs in Kansas and invested more than $4 billion, including infrastructure and employee compensation. To date, Amazon has contributed $3 billion in GDP to the Kansas economy.
