VC has done evil to everyone. I believe that sellers who have had their products copied or their listings modified by VC know how disgusting it is. The VC Anaconda incident that happened last year also completely exposed this ugly dark side to everyone.

As soon as this incident happened, Amazon was furious and implemented corrective measures. We also reported on this incident. You can click the link below to review it.

Amazon is furious about layoffs, the VC Anaconda era is coming to an end!

As soon as the official took action, they directly punished the sellers and internal personnel who used VC accounts to trade. It can be said that this severely deterred all the evil VC sellers.

However, Amazon did not fundamentally cut off the privileges of VC accounts at that time, which made some lawless elements who forgot the pain after the wound healed and are ready to make new moves recently. However, the subsequent official actions dealt a heavy blow to these VCs .

Recently, suppliers and sellers have received emails from Amazon, introducing Amazon’s new policy to all VC suppliers and sellers - Amazon Price Protection Program Policy.

We will begin implementing a new automatic price protection policy starting February 4, 2019, under which if you lower the cost price you provide to Amazon for a product, we will automatically apply the lower cost price to all outstanding purchase orders, products in transit, and existing inventory.

That is to say, once VC chooses to lower the price of an existing ASIN, Amazon will automatically update all its corresponding inventory to the new price. It will even apply to all unfinished purchase orders and products that are still in transit (the difference in this part will be automatically deducted from the subsequent payment)

Before this, suppliers needed manual approval before they could change prices, but after the price protection policy came into effect, price changes became an automated operation, and sellers did not need to log in to Vendor Central specifically.

Automatically applying low prices to all inventory means that VC accounts have to think twice before changing prices, and even need to clarify the basic profit level of the product when the product is first put on the shelves.

Obviously, the first purpose of this policy is to avoid malicious low-price competition among sellers and protect the majority of small and medium-sized sellers who abide by the rules. It can also largely avoid malicious manipulation of product prices and using abnormally low prices to obtain traffic from the platform.

The price protection policy targets the issues that sellers are most concerned about in terms of VC accounts. Regardless of the final actual effect, Amazon has made a statement that the good days of VC are over!
