Regret the acquisition? World's richest man Musk plans to sell Twitter within three years?

It is learned that according to the Wall Street Journal, after the world's richest man Musk bought Twitter for US$4.4 million, he planned to sell Twitter again within three years.

People familiar with the matter said that after consulting Twitter's shareholders and regulators, an agreement to close future sales will be finalized this year. In the latest filing related to the acquisition with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Twitter said that its business and products are in good shape before the transaction is completed.

Musk is reportedly in contact with private investment funds to help him pay for the $26 billion in personal spending he has pledged. The goal of the operation is to remove Twitter from the spotlight for the next few years in order to convince investors that it can quickly increase the profitability of the social network and make it more attractive.

Musk's Twitter plans

Musk did not reveal specific plans for Twitter beyond the financial aspects, but he hinted that he hopes to reduce content review policies such as so-called "censorship on the Internet."

On May 4, the world's richest man responded to "some organizations wanting to control access to information" on Twitter: "Sunlight is the best disinfectant."

Musk also said Twitter will always be free for casual users, but may charge a small fee to commercial and government users, saying he hopes to expand the influence of the social media platform to most Americans. There was no immediate response to a request for comment.

It is learned that Musk has been suggesting a lot of changes to Twitter since last month, such as changes to the premium subscription service Blue. After the acquisition, Musk expressed his hope to enhance the platform by launching new features, adding new algorithms to enhance trust, launching email robots and verifying the identity information of everyone.
