FDA orders recall of more than 500,000 heating pads sold on Amazon and Walmart

It is learned that according to foreign media reports, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently issued a statement announcing the recall of more than 500,000 Mighty Bliss heating pads sold by Whele LLC (operating under the name Perch) because the heating pads have safety hazards and may cause electric shock, skin burns, rashes or irritation to users.

The recalled heating pads were sold on Amazon.com and Walmart.com from July 2021 through July 2022 by Whele LLC and have the following model and lot numbers:

The FDA said that Whele LLC has received 286 complaints about overheating, sparks, burning or other electrical problems. Of these, 31 complaints reported injuries such as electric shock, burns, rashes or irritation.

The FDA is warning consumers, caregivers and healthcare providers not to use the affected heating pads and to visit the website of Whele LLC to receive a refund if they have already purchased the product.
