More than 80% of Americans will shop in advance! Mother's Day marketing and product selection should start early!

According to a survey by marketing platform Optimove, Americans attach great importance to Mother's Day not only in terms of extremely high spending, but also in terms of time. As early as the end of March, consumers began to think about what kind of gifts to buy, and April is the peak period for gift selection. Few people will wait until the last minute to rush to shop.

The survey shows that 86% of American consumers will shop in advance, and only 11% will wait until the last minute. In addition, 4% of consumers do not plan to shop.

Of those who plan to shop early, 56% plan to buy Mother's Day gifts at least two weeks in advance (including 24% who plan to prepare gifts a month in advance), and another 28% plan to buy gifts at least a week in advance.

According to a survey by Optimove, 51% of people said that promotions were the main reason for them to shop early. Since Mother's Day is a special holiday, consumers are more interested in shopping.

However, it is important to note that 66% of consumers hope that retailers can reduce marketing information because they hate the feeling of being bombarded with marketing information.

The survey also showed that 60% of consumers plan to buy flowers, 45% plan to buy clothing, gift cards or jewelry. 75% of consumers plan to buy greeting cards, of which 45% choose physical cards, 19% choose online cards, or 11% buy both.

Pini Yakuel, CEO and founder of Optimove, said retailers need to be ready before Mother's Day because consumers are ready to make purchase plans. This shows that most Mother's Day shopping will not happen at the last minute. In addition, almost half of people will buy two gifts in addition to flowers or cards.
